Banquet Captain - (2600003I) Description Join our team of passionate hospitality professionals at the Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center. Position Purpose: To supervise and train staff in the maintenance and coordination of banquet rooms by providing the necessary set-up, upkeep, break down, and cleaning function policies and procedures. Prepare weekly schedule. Process banquet bills on a daily basis. Enforce all policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Supervises and trains staff in the set up and break down of assigned banquet rooms according to contract and manager's instructions.
Supervises and trains staff in the service of food and beverages according to standards.
Communicates frequently with supervisors as to the progress of the day's work.
Communicates frequently with guest contacts in order to ensure that their needs are being met.
Supervises and trains staff in maintaining cleanliness of banquet rooms, banquet pantry, public areas, and storage areas.
Supervises and trains staff in maintaining inventory of necessary supplies.
Process banquet bills on a daily basis.
Draft schedule on a weekly basis and in compliance to forecasted and budgeted labor numbers for approval of the Banquet Manager or Food and Beverage Director.
Supervises and trains staff to conform to Hyatt's high standards of quality and service.
Make recommendations to his/her supervisor regarding improved methods and procedures so as to have a positive impact on guest/associate satisfaction.
Establish and maintain effective associate relations.
Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, and appearance are maintained.
Attends all required Banquet Department and other meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Ability to read, speak and comprehend English in order to receive instructions from managers and guests and to communicate with all members of the banquet department.
Ability to respond quickly and accurately to guest requests.
Ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and efficiently.
Ability to lift 35 lbs. with reasonable accommodation.
Knowledge of food preparation.
Prior Banquet experience required. Prior hospitality supervisory experience preferred.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**
The Service Leader is responsible for maintaining a positive customer experience by ensuring safe and quality food is prepared and served; and that the restaurant crew is well trained and provides good customer service. He/she maintains a clean, organized line with properly functioning line equipment. The responsibilities of this position require Service Leaders to be on their feet working while clocked in, unless on break. If they are not busy, they are expected to evaluate what other tasks need to be completed and assist others with those tasks.
**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
+ In addition to following Chipotle's policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Making sure great tasting, high quality food is served
+ Helping to resolve food quality issues
+ Supporting food safety which includes the following: ensuring hand washing and glove changes, monitoring time and temperature on the line, monitoring secondary shelf lives, and ensuring the Daily Food Safety Checklist and food safety policies and procedures are followed
+ Helping to resolve customer incidents and working to ensure positive customer experiences

+ Developing and cross training all front of house Crew

+ Ensuring office equipment remains in working order and making sure office supplies are ordered as necessary
+ Ensuring the proper quantity of supplies are available as needed
**WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE**

+ Have knowledge and experience of cash handling policies and procedures

Position Purpose: To supervise and train staff in the maintenance and coordination of banquet rooms by providing the necessary set-up, upkeep, break down, and cleaning function policies and procedures. Responsibilities:
* Supervises and trains staff in the set up and break down of assigned banquet rooms according to contract and manager's instructions.
* Supervises and trains staff in the service of food and beverages according to standards.

* Draft schedule on a weekly basis and in compliance to forecasted and budgeted labor numbers for approval of the Banquet Manager or Food and Beverage Director.
* Supervises and trains staff to conform to Hyatt's high standards of quality and service.
* Make recommendations to his/her supervisor regarding improved methods and procedures so as to have a positive impact on guest/associate satisfaction.
* Establish and maintain effective associate relations.
* Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, and appearance are maintained.
* Attends all required Banquet Department and other meetings.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Ability to read, speak and comprehend English in order to receive instructions from managers and guests and to communicate with all members of the banquet department.
* Ability to respond quickly and accurately to guest requests.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and efficiently.
* Ability to lift 35 lbs. with reasonable accommodation.
