What will you be doing?Perform front desk responsibilities to include greeting guests, performing guest transactions, answering the telephone, processing individual reservations, balancing credit card and cash transactions, running audit reports, and taking accurate messages for guests and management. Perform data entry and guest transactions on front desk computer system, utilizing hotel PMS (Property Management System). Provide quality service for guests in an efficient, professional and courteous manner. Take ownership of guest complaints and provides prompt solutions within scope of authority. Monitor front desk areas for safety, security, and appearance and reports any injuries, accidents or problems as necessary. Work with housekeeping and maintenance departments to assess room status for cleanliness, maintenance and any repair work. Responsible for accurate cash control to include keeping cash drawer and ensuring that all funds are accounted for and deposits made according to policy. Perform other duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous Night Audit experience is preferred, previous work experience in a guest service position required, preferably within the hospitality industry. Ability to understand, follow, and effectively communicate both written & verbally in English. Knowledge of accounting operations to include all aspects such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, Excel spreadsheet, etc. Thorough understanding of basic math with ability to operate a 10- key by touch and have previous cash handling experience. Ability to make sound decisions with little supervision and to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Ability to access and accurately input information using corporate revenue reporting software. Must have excellent telephone etiquette skills.
