Must be able to pass a medical exam that includes screening for TB, as required by Federal and State regulations, to be free of communicable disease, and must have received the following vaccinations: (MMR) Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Tetanus if not current, to assure no significant risk exists to the health or safety of others
Must obtain a CPR, first aid, and food handler's certification within six weeks of hire
Must complete Child Development Association Certification (CDA) within six months of hire. Maricopa County will pay for CDA courses and testing fees for the certification. On-site coaching and support and paid time to work on courses and other certification requirements will be available
Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish may be required for some positions
The position follows a part-year, 10-month work schedule that is from 7:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday

Athletic Field Rover: This assignment is a driving position where you travel to multiple parks to monitor athletic fields, help educate park users, and lock parks at closing time each evening. This position has shifts on weeknights as well as day and evening shifts on weekends. Rovers must be comfortable speaking with individuals, working independently and predominantly in the evenings.
PHXteens Program: Lead Teen participants ages 13-17 by providing various teen related recreational programming, events, and fieldtrips at 10 PHXteens sites located in community centers and/or other facilities. Mobile Recreation Unit : Programs themed in sports; STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math); Music, Arts & Culture and gaming to teens and pre-teens in a park setting. Scheduled hours will be Monday-Friday, some weekends, and holidays. Required availability 2:00 PM-8:00 PM.
Recreation Center Assignments: Will support recreation programs within community facilities to assist all ages and abilities. Positions described below will determine assignments for each role.
* Parks & Recreation Aides: Are entry level positions that perform recreation work. General assignments may include cleaning and setting up for special events; performing custodial work such as cleaning restrooms and sweeping floors; providing clerical support; helping with various recreation programs such as arts and crafts, dance classes, social events, group games, and physical and sporting events and instruction; and policing of park grounds.

These positions are classified as part-time and are eligible for earned paid sick time, city training, and free or discounted bus and light rail fares. Starting pay for each position is listed below. Application Tips
Prepare animals in the care of the Animal Control Department for adoption by the public, coordinate health testing, vaccination, alteration, grooming, and adoption, take animals to adoption events, help public with decision making, and answer questions under basic supervision. Work with various animal rescue organizations to include trap, neuter, and release programs. Work within guidelines of rescue contracts approved through the Board of Supervisors and work with volunteers and the media.

Review technical documents for processing and implementing splits and combinations of real property for the Assessor's Office. Draw, edit and update mapping functions within the Geographic Information System (GIS) database and review ownership and parcel history under basic supervision.

The Planning & Development Department currently has a vacancy for a Planner I in the Zoning Division.
The Planner I in the Zoning Division is responsible for a variety of tasks that include preparing zoning reports; researching case history and ordinances; assisting at public hearings; assisting with special planning projects; and assisting customers with processing applications, reviewing plans for zoning compliance, and providing zoning case history and zoning regulations. Customers include property owners, design and real estate professionals, attorneys, consultants, and other city staff.

Provides attorney support and guidance in areas of mitigation, treatment, rehabilitation, and sentencing/disposition alternatives including development of individualized plans for clients. Provides assistance to attorneys in developing defense strategies for clients.
* Interviews client/family and interested parties to assist in the development of treatment/sentencing plans.
* Establish ongoing rapport with clients, family, and other witnesses in a culturally competent way that overcomes barriers those individuals may have against the disclosure of sensitive information.
