Working conditions:
Working conditions may vary depending on assignment. Incumbents may be subjected to harsh elements such as extreme heat or cold, wet or dry, altitude, rough terrain, rural, suburban and urban environments. Incumbents may face dangerous, hostile and at times life threatening conditions, fatigue, physical or emotional stress related to the performance of the duties of a law enforcement officer.
Job requires the ability to work any location, shift and assignment operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Job requires the ability to: perform sprints, jumping and vaulting tasks; perform lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling; move quickly around objects and obstacles in pursuit situations; and pursue, extract and use force in both short intense effort and sustained effort situations. Actual situations may require efforts beyond the following:
Perform foot pursuits that may include running sprints of 100 feet or more; running for sustained periods, usually 300 feet but up to 5 minutes; running up and down stairs, usually 2 flights but may be up to 4 flights; run over uneven terrain; and dodge around obstacles.

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
The Deputy Sheriff in the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) enforces laws and maintains order while protecting life and property. The Deputy Sheriff is responsible for ensuring the public safety of the citizens of Maricopa County and the State of Arizona in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations and MCSO policies.
Criminal investigations
Conducts traffic and criminal investigations, using accepted methods and techniques to identify, secure, collect and protect evidence and crime scenes; conducts interviews with victims, witnesses, and suspects, gathering information, developing probable cause, making arrests and executing search warrants.
Response to calls for service
Responds quickly to emergency situations via department vehicle using vehicle's emergency equipment when needed (e.g., lights and sirens); determines the quickest and safest approach to an emergency scene; determines the best strategy for restoring or maintaining order and safety; uses defensive tactics and appropriate level of force, to include using assigned weapons (e.g., firearm, Taser, baton), to control a situation; issues warnings and/or citations to ensure public safety and compliance with the law.
Patrol duties
Maintains a safe and secure community by identifying and responding to in-progress criminal activity and unusual or suspicious circumstances, vehicles, packages; makes observations, writes reports, communicates with the public and provides a level of service required in conjunction with all local, state and federal laws, as well as all applicable policies and procedures of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office; engages the community in positive proactive policing practices to fulfill the departments mission, establishes strong ties and relationships within the community by conducting oneself in a professional, fair and transparent manner at all times.
Training
Attends, implements and provides all required training associated with the duties and functions of a law enforcement officer as specified by Arizona Police Officers Standards Training Board (POST) and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
Administration
Interacts with the public and staff by effectively communicating verbally, and in writing, to direct, ascertain information, document incidents, requirements, needs and conditions within the facility; operates electronic and other equipment (e.g., telephones, portable radios, desktop and mobile computers, cameras); independently gathers information through a variety of methods in order to document information and actions; utilizes technology to access information and records, and documents in reports as required by policy.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Maricopa County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the exam process only those candidates who are considered the most highly qualified. Those selected will be required to attend an orientation then pass a written exam and a physical readiness assessment. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a list provided by Human Resources.

JOB SUMMARY - HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR TRAINEE
PAY GRADE 05
STARTING SALARY: $34,500.00
Perform entry-level work in the operation of specialized trucks and motorized equipment used for a variety of job functions in the Public Works Department (PWD) and operate tools and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures under close supervision. This is a trainee position that can transfer into our Heavy Equipment Operator Series. Non-Competitive appointment into the Heavy Equipment Operator is contingent on successful completion of the certifications and training specified in this classification.
JOB SUMMARY - HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
PAY GRADE 07
STARTING SALARY $39,411.00
Perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the operation of specialized trucks and motorized equipment used for a variety of job functions in the Public Works Department (PWD) and operate tools and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures under basic supervision.
HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR TRAINEE:
* Operate a variety of specialized equipment to maintain Pinal County roads, roadways, drainage systems and infrastructure, in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
* Operate PWD vehicles and motorized equipment, including light trucks, water trucks, mowers, loaders, and back hoes.
* Perform manual labor tasks, repair pot holes, clear debris from culverts and roadway, and move and set barricades.
* Work on assigned projects and make appropriate decisions based on work experience.
* Maintain required daily logs, reports, and maintenance records.
* Clean and perform routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment, identify and report mechanical problems requiring additional repair, and notify supervisors of repair problems beyond the scope of authority.
* Follow all safety rules and regulations, utilize proper safety precautions in all work performed, and report safety hazards, equipment problems, and emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications:
* One (1) year of construction, maintenance, or related equipment experience.
* CPR/First Aid Certified
* Valid CDL Permit
Special Requirements:
* Trainees must obtain a Class A CDL Learner's Permit within the first 90 days of employment to remain on track to obtain Class A CDLs "standard transmission with tanker endorsements within the first 5 months of employment.
HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR:
* Three (3) years of experience in construction, maintenance, and related equipment OR one (1) year of experience as a Pinal County Operator (Trainee).
* Must obtain Class A Arizona State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) "standard transmission" with tanker endorsements within the first 5 months of employment; failure to maintain the required CDL may be grounds for termination.

OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification. First Aid / CPR / AED training upon hire.

Special Requirements:
* Trainees who are rehires of less than one year of separation will automatically be placed into the Heavy Equipment Operator Trainee classification until the 6-month requirement is met.
* Rehires will be placed in the appropriate position on a case-by-case basis.
Heavy Equipment Operator Trainee:
Knowledge of materials and methods used in roadway maintenance.
Knowledge of Federal and state safety rules and regulations.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions, including proper use and storage of chemicals, and OSHA Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for hazardous chemicals used in the workplace.
Skill in operating and maintaining tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
Ability to follow directions and maintain safety standards.
Knowledge of personal computers utilizing standard and specialized software.
Ability to work with others to complete daily tasks.
Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, equipment, and supplies used in roadway maintenance.

POSITION SUMMARY:
In order to maximize the quality and impact that Arizona s Judicial Branch has on the communities it serves, the Arizona Supreme Court has demonstrated a commitment to providing its employees the highest quality education and training programs possible. The Education Services Division serves as the primary coordinating unit to service this need, including for judicial officers, court staff, and probation officers throughout the state. Through cutting-edge adult education theory and practice, and using a variety of educational modalities (i.e., in-person sessions, webinars, computer-based trainings, etc.), the Division directly provides and indirectly supports the education and training requirements for a broad audience with diverse needs.
This position is responsible for the development, implementation and management of mandatory state-wide probation officer training and certification program and juvenile detention officer training program. This position is also responsible for developing, creating, reviewing, and revising curriculum for probation officers, probation supervisors and juvenile detention officers. This includes creating curriculum and program materials, designing programs, investigating delivery methods, establishing program content, and administering tests and exams. Additionally, this position serves as subject matter expert on evidence-based probation practices and serves as lead instructor for the Probation Officer Certification Academy and Intensive Probation Institute, oversees a cadre of approximately one-hundred professional-level experts within the field of probation, and serves on various committees and manages complex projects as assigned. This position interacts closely with other AOC divisions, judges, lawyers, and chief probation officers, directors of juvenile court, instructors, and probation staff.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid-telework schedule once the employee has completed three (3) months of employment and has sufficiently proved their ability to perform assigned tasks.

Positions may be available at satellite locations throughout Pinal County. This registry will be used for current and future open positions. Probation officers provide casework services to probationers at the direction of the Superior Court under the provisions of evidence-based practices and consistent with the Arizona Code of Judicial Administration. The duties of a probation officer include supervising the caseloads of assigned probationers, meeting with probationers in their homes or at their places of school/work, conducting interviews and social or pre-disposition investigations, evaluating probationers' progress, performing searches, and making arrests.
Because probationers under Court supervision may include convicted felons, felony adjudicated delinquents, and/or persons with domestic violence convictions/adjudications, these job duties may expose the probation officers to physical risk from probationers, family members and others in proximity to the probationers. Anticipated starting salary may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $27.88 per hour.

Education and Experience:
* A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
All Street Operations Assignments:

Recreation Supervisor - Parks and Recreation Department

The Parks and Recreation Department provides residents and visitors with more than 41,000 acres of desert parks and mountain preserve land with more than 200 miles of trails; 189 parks; 33 community and recreation centers; eight golf courses; 29 pools; and classes, programs, and sports leagues. The Parks and Recreation Department also develops and maintains new parks, recreational amenities, and facilities with funding from a variety of sources.
The Northeast Division Recreation Supervisor acts as the section head and is responsible for an $3.8M operating budget, supervision of 92 part-time and full-time staff, with four direct reports, operations of six youth, neighborhood, senior and community centers; athletic allocations for 52 sports fields, and special activity requests, park activation programs and special events, including the APS Electric Light Parade. This position reports to the Northeast Deputy Parks and Recreation Director.

JOB SUMMARY
Serves as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary response team serving patients with concerns of child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, strangulation, physical assault or otherwise impacted by violence. Provides forensic nursing care and referrals. Positions at this level are assigned to perform the more complex and sensitive duties in the healthcare field. Judgment must be exercised in analyzing facts or circumstances surrounding issues. * Performs medical forensic examinations of minor children and adolescents reporting abuse and neglect.
* Performs medical forensic examinations of adolescents and adults reporting sexual assault, domestic violence, strangulation or other interpersonal violence.
* Assesses the status of the patient and addresses acute medical concerns and stabilization of the patient; completes thorough medical history, assault history and a detailed physical examination, including systems review and developmental status.

Working in a multidisciplinary environment with Law Enforcement, Department of Child Safety, Medical Forensics, Victim Advocates and other service agencies, this position provides support and feedback to the Forensic Interview team including consultation and training of team members and partners and coordination of peer review. The position will also conduct forensic interviews of children in a timely, neutral and developmentally and culturally appropriate manner for the Pinal County Family Advocacy Centers and assist complex investigations with other Federal, state, and regional Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) under basic supervision.

Facility Contract Compliance Specialist - Aviation Department

The Aviation Department manages and operates the Phoenix Airport System, which consists of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Deer Valley Airport, and Goodyear Airport. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has consistently been ranked as one of the top ten busiest airports in the nation, serving more than 140,000 passengers daily, and over 1,300 arriving and departing flights each day; the airport has a total economic impact of more than $44.3 billion annually.
The Aviation Department has a vacancy for a Facility Contract Compliance Specialist position. The Terminal Services section of the Aviation Department manages multiple, high-value privately contracted service providers with a combined value of over $40 million a year and is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical and highly organized Facility Contract Compliance Specialists whose primary responsibilities will center on contractor billing audit functions, invoice verification, reconciliation, financial tracking, work order oversight, centralized purchasing and other administrative compliance and support functions.
Unlike the other Facility Contract Compliance Specialists within the section who conduct frequent field inspections to ensure service providers are meeting the terms, conditions, and performance expectations as outlined in their contracts, this role emphasizes invoice auditing, compliance review, documentation management, and financial tracking. However, the position will participate in weekly site walks and meetings with Supervisory staff and contractor leadership, take detailed notes, observe field conditions, and document follow-up items to support contract oversight.
Some contracted services include but are not limited to, janitorial, custodial, pest management, odor control, window cleaning, high dusting, regulated trash, carpet and floor maintenance, and other various facilities services such as fire protection services. This position is ideal for candidates who possess strong financial review skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a high degree of comfort using technology and data-driven systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE ARE:
Contract Audit & Billing Compliance Oversight
* Conduct detailed monthly audits of contracted service providers invoices to verify accuracy, documentation completeness, and compliance with contract terms.
* Review billing elements such as labor hours, material costs, equipment charges, and service logs.
* Identify discrepancies, coordinate corrections with contractors, and ensure proper resolution.
* Assist the Aviation Supervisor III in preparing supporting documentation for liquidated damages and issuing liquidated damages when contract performance does not meet the required standards.
* Track expenditures and identify trends or irregularities throughout the fiscal year.
* Interpret contract contents to contractors when required.
* Evaluate vendor adherence to KPIs, including cleanliness, response times, staffing levels and quality control measures.
Work Order Oversight
* Ensure work order requests are accurately entered, assigned, updated, and closed out timely.
* Monitor open, pending, and completed work orders for completeness and compliance.
* Collaborate with contractors and staff to address overdue or incomplete work orders.
* Maintain high-quality data integrity within the electronic Work Order Management system.
Centralized Purchasing & Budget Support
* Input and manage centralized purchase requests for the Terminal Services Section.
* Track expenditures, verify receipts, and ensure purchases align with budget allocations.
* Assist with development of annual budgets by compiling expenditure history and forecasting needs.
* Maintain up-to-date financial logs, spreadsheets, and documentation files.
Administrative & Compliance Support
* Prepare audit findings, compliance summaries, and monthly performance reports.
* Maintain logs, dashboards, inspection data, and other administrative tracking tools.
* Draft correspondence, corrective action documentation, and briefing notes.
* Support ongoing KPI tracking, SLA documentation, and contract compliance processes.
* Observe and document non-compliance issues and coordinate corrective actions with contractors.
Site Walk Participation (limited field work)
* Join Terminal Services leadership along with contractor leadership during scheduled site walks and weekly calls to observe operations and document findings.
* Capture detailed notes, images, and follow-up action items.
* Track contractor commitments and ensure corrective actions are completed.
General Duties
* Provide administrative and operational support as needed within the Section.
* Interface with internal and external stakeholders.
* Assist during airport emergencies or special operations, as needed.
Currently, there is one shift available within the Aviation Department / Terminal Services Section. Shift currently available is Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data validation, dashboards), Word, Outlook, Teams, Share Point, OneNote, and compliance tracking software.
* Ability to maintain punctual and reliable attendance.
* Ability to read and analyze moderately complex contracts.
* Customer conflict resolution skills to address contract disputes and vendor challenges.
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, auditing and reporting skills.
* Problem-solver with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions.
* Excellent communicator who can effectively coordinate with contractors, airport personnel, and senior leadership.
* Strong reading, writing and verbal skills; effectively communicate messages and information in a professional manner.
* Knowledge of fire extinguisher inspection procedures, including checking pressure gauges, seals, and expiration dates.
* Knowledge of airport security regulations, airport operations, facilities maintenance, or service contract environments related to custodial operations (preferred but not required).
SALARY
Pay Range: $23.18 to $41.63 per hour.
Hiring Range: $23.18 to $32.62 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Education, experience, and training which provide the ability to interact with management staff as well as service providers, and the ability to analyze and interpret moderately complex contracts using high-level reading and writing skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
* Customer service experience.
* Experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform financial reviews and conduct data analysis.
* Experience with contract monitoring, quality control, and/or compliance-related experience.
* Experience interpreting and analyzing facilities-related contracts and effectively interact with contractors, customers, and management.
* Experience preparing draft contract specifications and recommending contract changes based on observational needs.
* Advanced experience using electronic work order management systems, including reviewing, entering, auditing, tracking, and validating work order data.
