What is a marine pipefitter helper and how to become one

If you are a marine pipefitter, your job will be to design and build pipes used for water purposes. You will assemble, install, fabricate, repair, and maintain pipe systems and supports. You will also work with hydraulics, steam, heat and power and maintain hot water and air pressure pipe systems and attach pipes to walls and fixtures. You will need to be adept at using blueprints, welding, and selecting the size and type of pipe as well as the materials and equipment needed for the job.

As a Marine Pipefitter helper, you will work with the pipefitter to get all the jobs and projects finished. You will learn your trade through on-the-job training, and the length of training depends on your employer and your specialization.
