Job Duties and Responsibilities: Project Leadership & Oversight Lead overall onsite execution of large-scale data center construction projects, often spanning multiple buildings or phases. Provide leadership and guidance to Construction Managers, Foremen, and subcontractors. Drive the field organization to meet schedule goals, quality standards, and safety requirements. Anticipate project risks, constraints, and critical path conflicts-and implement mitigation plans proactively. Field Resource Management Oversee daily and weekly deployment of field resources, including W2 labor, union workforce (if applicable), and subcontractor staffing. Partner with Project Managers to forecast manpower needs and adjust resources based on project priorities. Ensure construction managers and field leads have the tools, materials, and support required to maintain production rates. Planning, Scheduling & Coordination Lead construction sequencing, workflow planning, and task coordination for structured cabling, conveyance, splicing/testing, rack placement, and tenant build-outs. Validate schedule milestones, provide input to master schedules, and escalate deviations early. Coordinate with General Contractors, electrical trades, mechanical teams, and customer stakeholders to eliminate installation conflicts or rework. Quality Control & Technical Expertise Ensure installation work adheres to all project specifications, NEC/industry standards, and internal quality requirements. Perform routine quality audits of structured cabling, tray and pathway installation, fiber work, labels, patching, and equipment placements. Provide technical guidance to teams on drawings, one-lines, floor plans, rack elevations, test results, and as-built documentation. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the senior onsite point of contact for customers, GC partners, and internal leadership. Lead onsite coordination meetings, production reviews, and daily stand-ups. Communicate progress updates, risks, and mitigation plans to Project Managers, Directors, and customer representatives. Influence cross-functional decisions to keep work on schedule and aligned with customer expectations. Budget, Reporting & Documentation Support Project Managers with cost tracking, production reporting, change order development, and forecasting. Track progress against deliverables and provide accurate updates for management dashboards and customer reports. Review and approve daily logs, manpower reports, test results, and close-out documentation. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in data center construction, low voltage/structured cabling, or mission-critical environments. Proven experience leading large field teams and managing multiple scopes concurrently. Strong understanding of: Data center core & shell construction sequencing Tenant fit-outs and white space build-outs Overhead conveyance systems Fiber optic splicing/testing and structured cabling installations Riser diagrams, site plans, as-builts, and construction drawings Exceptional prioritization and problem-solving skills in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Demonstrated ability to interface with executive-level customer contacts. Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing $10M-$100M+ low-voltage construction programs. Prior background in a data center general contractor or critical infrastructure environment. OSHA 30 certification (highly preferred). BICSI, RCDD, fiber certification, or PMP preferred. Experience working with or managing union labor.
