The Marion Police Department was formed on March 3, 1844.
The Marion Police Department was established on April 16th, 1879 by City Ordinance.
Prior to 1931, Law Enforcement was handled by the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department Deputies and Township Constables.
Alvin C. Clarke was the first appointee as a Marion City Marshall in 1931.
