Apart from their main duty, market analysts are also typically responsible for suggesting strategies to the marketing, product development, and sales teams to achieve certain goals, such as boosting revenue, improving brand reputation, and increasing customer loyalty. They also conduct forecasting based on current market trends to help their company prepare for future demands.
The typical requirement for this role is a business-related degree, such as business, finance, and marketing, just to name a few. Moreover, employers look for candidates with industry experience and exemplary analysis skills when hiring for a market analyst, as well as a good understanding of math, statistics, and data analysis tools.
In terms of compensation, a market analyst makes $51,000 per year on average. Some even make as much as $78,000, especially those who work in the highest-paying states like New York, Alaska, and Connecticut.
