Market research associates assess consumer preferences to help the organization decide how to advertise, shape and market its products and services. You will be the one to create and evaluate methods for collecting data such as questionnaires, surveys, focus groups, and opinion polls. After the data is collected, you will analyze the data using statistical software. In addition, you will interpret the data collected by organizing this information into statistical tables and reports. The findings will be presented to executives and clients through charts, graphs, and other visual means to get them informed about product introductions, modifications, and marketing campaigns.
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in marketing, market research, statistics, computer science, or any related field is required to qualify for this post. MBA, professional certification, or other advanced education is an added advantage, especially for leadership positions. You must be experienced with Microsoft PowerPoint and Word as well as statistical software platforms because you will analyze different data collected. You should be comfortable speaking in front of large people, strangers and presenting results to internal team members and management. Market research associates earn an average of $48,086 annually.
