Marketing Coordinator, Majestic Resorts

After graduating with a master's degree in Marketing and e-commerce from CETT Universidad de Barcelona, I returned to my home country with a strong foundation in digital marketing. Eager to apply my knowledge, I applied for a newly opened position as a marketing assistant at Grupo Puntacana, a pioneer in developing what is now the world-renowned destination of Punta Cana. Within a year and a half, I was promoted to Social Media & Database Coordinator, a role that allowed me to spearhead the digital presence for various brands, including Punta Cana International Airport, The Westin Punta Cana, Four Points by Sheraton Punta Cana, Grupo Puntacana Foundation, Punta Cana International School, Corales Golf Course, among others.

Working at Grupo Puntacana provided me with invaluable experience in managing and enhancing the digital footprints of multiple brands. It taught me the importance of staying updated with the ever-evolving marketing landscape. I believe the best way to become a successful Marketing Coordinator is by continuously learning and adapting to new trends and technologies. This proactive approach opens up more opportunities for professional growth.

Today, I am proud to serve as the Brand Communications Manager at Majestic Resorts, a family-owned business with hotels in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and Costa Mujeres, Cancun, Mexico. Here, I continue to contribute my expertise in brand development and digital presence, furthering my journey in the dynamic world of digital marketing.

Marketing coordinator reviews

Pros

It can be mildly rewarding to edit a website on the backend and immediately see the changes on the front end. Black Friday can be fun when you push sales and get to see people on the website shopping your product. Also there is potential to work hybrid or fully remote depending on the company and its demands.

Cons

It's incredibly tedious and very boring work. It doesn't pay very much when you're starting out. It's an easy job, but if you care about your career and want to do something you are passionate about that actually makes a difference, this is likely not it. And if you want to be able to afford living in general, good luck as this job pays about as much as a teacher makes (give or take depending on the company, position, etc.). I am bored and leaving this career path as soon as I can.
