Account Success

2. Clinical Education & Support

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Marketing and Events Coordinator in the department, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and engaging websites and portals for Landscape Architecture and Landscape Contracting & Management programs in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. Websites and portals must meet specifications for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as required by federal regulations. All content must adhere to Mississippi State University's and the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences' branding and messaging requirements. This position will be primarily based in the Department of Landscape Architecture (75%), with a smaller appointment (25%) liaising in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences and MAFES Communications Office.
The ideal individual should be able to work in various web software programs to produce reliable and sustainable websites. Ability to write code and link together cyber information in a dynamic and networked environment is a plus. Knowledge and understanding of Mississippi State University's Office of Information Technology guidelines are essential.

With nearly 8million specimens of preserved plants, the MBG Herbarium is one of the largest and most active research collections in the world and serves as a core resource for the Garden's Science and Conservation Division. The successful candidate for this position will join a dedicated team of scientists and support staff in the Herbarium to produce high-quality specimen data to serve urgent global needs in research, conservation, land management, and policymaking. In addition, staff hired in this position will participate in a curatorial mentorship program, attending workshops held by other Garden staff on botanical taxonomy, nomenclature, specimen curation, and collection management to develop their Herbarium skills and knowledge. This role requires excellent time management and interpersonal skills, a thoughtful and collaborative approach to problem solving, and a deep passion for plants. Initial core duties include pulling, barcoding, and imaging specimens, label data capture, data quality assurance (QA), and specimen filing. As part of the curatorial mentorship program, duties will expand to include: becoming familiar with the taxonomic literature of one or more target plant families, updating scientific names on specimens according to recent taxonomic treatments, identifying specimens, and improving the accuracy of the physical collection and its associated digital records.

Reviews label transcriptions from AI models and other sources for accuracy prior to their incorporation in Tropicos.
Attends curatorial mentorship workshops, lectures, and other events to grow capacity n taxonomy and Herbarium curation.

Job Summary:
The Commercial Lines Insurance Marketing Assistant provides administrative and technical support to the marketing team in placing and servicing commercial insurance accounts. This role involves preparing submissions, assisting with proposals, and ensuring accurate documentation to support new business and renewal processes. Further, this role is expected to train and graduate into a Lead Marketing role 3-6 months into the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Submission Preparation: Gather underwriting information, loss runs, and supplemental applications for new and renewal business.
Quoting & Rating: Utilize carrier systems and company websites to rate and quote commercial insurance policies.
Proposal Development: Assist in creating proposals and marketing deliverables for clients.
Data Entry & Accuracy: Enter and maintain client and policy data in agency management systems (e.g., Applied EPIC, AMS360).
Carrier Communication: Submit applications to carriers, request quotes, and follow up on outstanding items.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all submissions meet company and regulatory standards.
Research & Analysis: Compile loss summaries, exposure schedules, and other data for marketing purposes.
Team Support: Provide assistance to senior marketers and account managers; cover tasks during absences.
Miscellaneous Duties: Support special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Education: High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: 1+ year in insurance, administrative, or marketing support role (commercial lines experience preferred).
Licensing: Property & Casualty License (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with agency management systems (AMS360 / WorkSmart) is a plus.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and excellent verbal/written communication.
