Marlboro Twp Schools company history timeline

1848

On that date in 1848, by an act of the State Legislature, Marlboro became an independent political entity.

1880

By the 1880 census, that figure had grown to 2,200.

1999

Reading teacher Laura Fischer was recognized as the Monmouth County Citizen of the Year in 1999 for her work in supporting the Linkages homeless shelter.

2000

In 2000, her students were recognized as Monmouth County Student Volunteers of the Year.

2001

In 2001, VFW Post 4374 nominated Principal Jon Shutman as Principal of the Year, and art teacher Betty Matlin as Teacher of the Year.

2003

On March 17, 2003, Marlboro Memorial Middle School (MMMS) opened its doors to 540 seventh and eighth grade students, becoming the second middle school in the district.

2008

Marlboro Township was 160 years old on February 17, 2008.
