Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment and craft of your team's projects, ensuring the delivered solutions are highly relevant to developer productivity and happiness, something our community cannot imagine life without.
Promote and influence a data-driven culture across the organization. Use objective measurement as the primary means of communication, guiding project execution and decision making, and tracking progress.
Advocate and articulate your vision, key results and product strategy in simple and clear narratives, easy to connect and comprehend by your team, the developer community and engineering leadership.
Build relationships across Engineering. Conduct regular DevEx surveys within Marqeta, use developers' feedback to build and prioritize a strategy and roadmap for your team, and for products that may span multiple teams and the entire company.
Use your extensive technical expertise to mentor engineers, to promote developer productivity within your team and across Marqeta.
Who You Are:
10+ years of solid programming experience in Java, Python, Go, or similar programming languages to build large-scale distributed systems.
BA/BS Degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience
Experience and deep understanding of effective and efficient SDLC workflows, particularly developer-oriented workflows. Hands-on experience in developing developer infrastructure, services, and workflows.
Deep experience in driving vision, roadmap, and adoption of Developer Portal products such as Backstage.
Experience with build systems such as Gradle, Maven, or Make, and familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools such as CodeBuild, Jenkins, CircleCI or Github Actions
We primarily operate in the cloud and follow industry best practices for virtualization, and infrastructure-as-code tools. Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible), and experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS) is critical to this role.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana.

for experience in measuring software development productivity and quality.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to communicate technical strategy and roadmap in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
