1926 First switches with rolling contacts are used in hand vacuum cleaners and radio sets.

The Great Depression starting in 1929 and its consequences cause considerable losses for the young company at the start of the Thirties.

1945 French occupation of the offices.

1953 Marquardt is the first German company to produce snap-action switches.

Jakob Marquardt became managing partner in 1955 and was responsible for production and human resources.

A new branch plant is built in Böttingen, and the existing plant at the Rietheim headquarters is expanded too (1959).

1963 Marquardt develops switching keyboards for washing machines.

1965 The second generation of managing directors is complete.

1968 Pioneering spirit in the "electronics laboratory".

1969 Investment in a modern training workshop.

1972 Marquardt produces toggle switches and power tool switches.

1981 First foreign subsidiary is established.

In 1985, the first factory building was put into operation on site.

1991 Takeover of the tool switch manufacturer Russenberger.

2003 First Marquardt keyless system for cars.

2004 Marquardt continues to develop its product portfolio one step at a time.

2009 Marquardt is helping to save electricity.

2010 Electronic steering column lock is launched on the market.

2012 The first Marquardt touchpad is produced.

2013 Liquid-detergent dispensing system.

2014 Series of ECO switches and electro-mobility.
