* Supervising a multidisciplinary staff composed of clinical and administrative team members, whose primary mission is to provide direct readjustment counseling to eligible individuals in the areas of suicide prevention, crisis intervention, short- and long-term treatment for symptoms associated with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and readjustment issues;
* Planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating professional services rendered by subordinates;
* Setting guidelines and establishing intervention strategies/treatment priorities for individual, group, conjoint and families employing varying clinical and therapeutic modalities;
* Conducting Performance Based Interviews (PBI) and determining selection processes to ensure fair and equitable recruitment of qualified, high achieving, and well prepared applicants;
* Developing networks and working relationships external to the St. Louis Vet Center Director and the Department of Veteran Affairs with Veteran service organizations, community based agencies, and mental health organizations to enhance service delivery and develop referrals of Veteran clients to appropriate care;
* Serving as a consultant and subject matter expert to programs and resources external to the Vet Center on matters of readjustment needs of Veterans;
* Creating, implementing, and measuring market penetration of Vet Center services through a comprehensive outreach plan for the primary service area;

About the Role
This position works under the general direction of the Supervisor of Care Management and is responsible for the plan's regional field care management and coordination programs and processes. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Behavior Support Specialist works under the direction of the Special and Support Services Administration to provide support and direction in the design, implementation, and coordination of behavior support systems. A Behavior Support Specialist aids in building the capacity of individual teachers and building level teams to support students who exhibit non-prosocial behavior. In addition to system-wide support, the Behavior Support Specialist would support staff and buildings in the following areas:
Work directly and indirectly with identified students to substantially increase their prosocial academic performance and behavior. These are students who have been identified by building based teams as requiring substantial supplemental behavioral intervention (Tier II, and Tier III).
Provide training support and supervision to specialized paraprofessionals serving buildings and individual students. Under the supervision of Special and Support Services Administration, the Behavior Support Specialist will provide diversified professional development activities specifically designed for targeted audiences: General Education teachers, Special Education teachers, Related Services Professionals, Paraprofessionals, Administrators and parents.

Individualized Student Support:
Works with students, staff, and parents to assess needs for the creation and development of behavior intervention plans for students with intensive support needs.
Demonstrates substantial ability in interpreting behavioral assessments, Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans and data collection for the purpose of developing Behavior Plans.
Monitor the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans by the Behavior Support Assistants, or other staff as appropriate. Develop staff capacity for data-based decision making with regard to prosocial student behavior skill development.
Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
Parent / Community Liaison Support:
Develops and plans appropriate communication and training for parents and community
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with other district specialists and community agencies (behavioral health, law enforcement, etc.) which enhance supports to families.
Program Evaluation Support:
Develops and implements district level data collection and analysis.
Provides regular program evaluative feedback with suggested plans for improvement in targeted areas of concern to the building administration.
Other:
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills
Attend staff and other professional meetings as may be assigned or necessary.
Demonstrate positive relationship skills with students, parents and district staff, maintaining ongoing and open communication.

Position Summary:
Full-time Child and Family Therapist position available at Sea Mar's Child and Family Clinic Oak Harbor and Anacortes, WA. The Child and Family Therapist provides individual and/or family therapy, case management, crisis stabilization, treatment planning, and may lead groups. In addition, will provide referrals and coordination with medication providers, primary physicians and other community partners. Must have the ability to accurately diagnose mental health issues and develop treatment plans based upon diagnosis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
ADMINISTRATIVE
Assists in insuring agency compliance with WAC's, RCW's, and other pertinent laws, regulations, and contracts.
Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures as directed by the Program Director.
Educates staff regarding the process for mental health service referrals and regarding "psycho educational topics” (suicide risk assessment, behavior modification, etc.) as directed by the Program Manager.
Maintains documentation of mental health services, and follow through in patient charts.
CLINICAL DUTIES
Provide developmentally and culturally appropriate formal and informal diagnostic assessments for each patient during the program. Document outcomes, justify diagnoses, and communicate with the collaborative partners regarding outcomes and recommendations. It is suggested that this individual communicate with the Primary Care Physicians, Substance Abuse Counselors, schools, case workers, or others involved in the care of the patient.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, specifically children and families.
Provide information about assessments and involve family members as active participants in the assessment process and in treatment planning, where appropriate.
Collaborate with other professionals in conducting family-centered assessments and treatment planning, when appropriate.
Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
Able to identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients.
Refer patients to psychiatric and medication management services as appropriate. Gather record materials and background information as needed by the community mental health center (See Policies and Procedures). Actively collaborate with the psychiatric service provider to insure accuracy of presentation and that identified needs are addressed. Provide monitoring regarding the effects of medications, and feedback to the psychiatrist regarding effects/side effects.
Provide individual and/or family counseling, in coordination with other system as needed.
Provide suicide risk assessment and develop treatment plans to address suicidal ideation or gestures. Use case management as needed to provide follow through and build community support as follow through. Provide other crisis stabilization as needed.
Gather information regarding past mental health services to be used in the individual's treatment plan development. Provide mental health services referrals to patients prior to or following admission, and exchange information with outside service providers.
Support other staff regarding mental health needs of staff or patients. Maintain confidentiality, prevent splitting between staff and patients, and offer concrete ideas on handling challenging situations.
PRODUCTIVITY STANDARD
Produce a minimum of 80 encounters that will equal at least 80 hours of face-to-face contact.
