This position has the primary responsibility of providing the full breadth of Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to children of all ages of military service members and their families at military installations and off military installations. These services may include non-medical counseling, training/ health and wellness presentations, consultation with parents, personnel, schools, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues affecting children and youth. CYB School counselors will be assigned to Department of Defense (DoDEA) schools and community schools and will need to have experience working in a school setting to qualify for a school position. CYB School counselors will also be assigned to youth programs, summer camps, and on demand assignments. The counselors work closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation and the schools.
Provides non-medical, short-term, solution focused, counseling directly to eligible children and youth of service members at assigned primary and secondary locations. Services include assessment, brief counseling and consultation, action planning, referral to resources (assuring linkage as appropriate), and follow-up as indicated.
CYB counselors will also have a focus on supporting the staff and personnel of DoDEA , community schools, summer camps (if available/assigned) as well as providing parent training and guidance.
Provides training and health and wellness presentations, participates in health fairs and other base/installation activities focused on children and youth.
Enters counselor activity data daily through smart phone, or web application, to assure that reporting is accurate from assigned installation while maintaining confidentiality and anonymity of service/family member.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with community resources focused on children and youth and provides appropriate linkages. Consistently visible within the school which allows MFLC services to be accessible when working with children, the counselor must abide by line of sight protocol (another adult with responsibility for the child must be able to see the counselor and child they are working with at all times).
Partners with POC to provide CYB services in a manner that addresses the needs of the installation/facility. Develops an effective and professional working relationship with the installation/facility POC.
Manages duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to DoD protocol and staffs the cases with Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.
Communicates with Regional Supervisor and participates in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations and in facilities to which they are assigned. Responds to critical incidents and special requests as directed by the POC and approved by the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) program manager. The CYB will flex schedule to respond to urgent requests as needed or at the request of the Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.
Participates in regular in-services/training, Quality Improvement committees, initiatives, studies, pilot programs other contract activities as assigned/appropriate as directed by the customer and/or Magellan. This includes participation in pilot program certification and training processes, completion of activity documentation, integration of pilot activities in non-medical counseling work, and the utilization of applicable technology to complete required activities.

Summary Description:
The Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare (FFT-CW) Clinician is responsible for providing FFT services to children and families involved in the child welfare system. This evidence-based practice will be conducted in the family's home setting. The goals of this short-term intervention are to improve family functioning, improve communication, reduce conflict, decrease problem behaviors, reduce hospitalization, reduce out of home placements and delinquency, improve parenting skills, and increase effective problem-solving skills. The Clinician must have the ability to internalize, work within the FFT philosophy, and model as well as being able to adapt and individualize program intervention to utilize family strengths and skills. The Clinician must be eligible and maintain a certification as a Functional Family Therapist Clinician. Training and certification will be provided during the first year of employment. Summary

Qualifications:
Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Valid state licensure: LCADC, LSW, LPC, or LAC.
Minimum of 2 years of experience providing therapy in a substance abuse treatment setting. Experience with co-occurring disorders preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively in a team environment. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Counseling or related field required.
Master's in mental helath related field preferred, or presently enrolled in master's program
Experience with working with underserved students.
Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.

Compensation: Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The minimum hourly pay for this position is $23.

General Purpose:
The purpose of the counselor is to provide case management, substance abuse counseling, and advocacy services to an assigned caseload. This counselor will participate as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team to facilitate the client recovery and rehabilitation processes. These goals are accomplished by providing individual and group counseling, making interventions as needed and contributing to the healthy integrity of the program's therapeutic environment.
Description of Duties:
* Provide case management and advocacy services to an assigned caseload.
* Participate in monitoring the therapeutic environment to ensure that the behavioral guidelines are followed, a therapeutic milieu is maintained and professional relationships remain positive.
* Provides psycho-education and counseling relevant to chemical dependency and relapse prevention.
* Participate in assessment screenings to determine client needs/preferences; formulates and implements treatment, transition and discharge /continuing care planning collaboratively with individual clients.
* Facilitates the re-socialization process of clients by serving as a role model.
* Conducts facility safety checks as assigned to visually assess clients for the use of alcohol/drugs or the environment of care for unsafe conditions.
* Ensures the maintenance of accurate, complete, timely and high quality client records that comply with external regulatory standards and agency policy and procedure.
* Complies with 42 CFR confidentiality and HIPPAA privacy and security regulations.
* Works cooperatively with other staff as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
* Functions as a liaison/advocate to client's families and other agencies as needed.
* Provides outreach, education and prevention services to the local community, schools, groups and agencies as necessary and as provided by management staff.
* Provides crisis intervention and management, generating referrals to agency or external mental health providers or other service providers, as indicated.
* Attend and participate in monthly department, All Staff and other required meetings.
* Be familiar with and adhere to all clinical, administrative, and general policies and procedures as outlined in the Cornerstone Policy and Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook.
* Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of Cornerstone including, but not limited to, patient confidentiality, financials, and employee relations.
