Summary:

Essential Functions:
Delivery of clinical services including individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, intensive outpatient services, requesting urinalysis, non-medical community residential services, consultation, referral and information, intervention, hotline, training, outreach, crisis intervention, case management and adjunctive alcohol and drug services. Assessment and treatment planning including assessment of client's strengths and weaknesses, developing treatment plans to prioritize and address identified problems, examining alternative solutions and developing plans of action.
Day Treatment Program includes 5 days per week of Intensive Outpatient (IOP) group services. Position is also responsible for coordination and on-going communication with the staff and representatives of Residential and Recovery Housing programs.
Oversight of each case assigned to caseload. Orienting the client to the program, clinical reviews and clinical staffing, discharge planning and completion of daily progress notes. Engaging the family of each client in the family treatment program. Delivery of program components as assigned. Weekly contact with referral sources for clients assigned to caseload. Completion of all CQI data collection and implementation of all CQI corrective actions as assigned. Monthly participation in the Utilization Review and Peer Review programs. Other duties as assigned.

Associate Degree or substantial progress towards Associate Degree with emphasis on Addictions Treatment and Prevention or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred.
Certification Requirements:

**Location:** This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, with the exception of required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. The **Medical Management Clinician** responsible for ensuring appropriate, consistent administration of plan benefits by reviewing clinical information and assessing medical necessity under relevant guidelines and/or medical policies. May collaborate with healthcare providers. Focuses on moderately complex case types that do not require the training or skill of a registered nurse.
**How you will make an impact.**
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
+ Responsible for moderately complex cases that may require evaluation of multiple variables against guidelines when procedures are not clear.
+ Work may be facilitated, in part, by algorithmic or automated processes.
+ Handles moderately complex benefit plans and/or contracts.
+ Works on reviews that may require guidance by more senior colleagues and/or management.
+ May serve as a resource to less experienced staff.
+ Conducts and may approve precertification, concurrent, retrospective, out-of-network, and/or appropriateness of treatment setting reviews by assessing clinical information against appropriate medical policies, clinical guidelines, and the relevant benefit plan/contract.
+ May process a medical necessity denial determination made by a Medical Director.
+ May work directly with healthcare providers to obtain and understand clinical information.
+ Refers complex or unclear reviews to higher level nurses and/or Medical Directors.
+ May educate members about plan benefits and physicians. Does not issue medical necessity non-certifications.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent. Requires a minimum of 4 years of clinical experience and/or utilization review experience.
+ Current active, valid and unrestricted LPN/LVN license or RN license and/or certification to practice as a health professional within the scope of licensure in applicable state(s) or territory of the United States required.
+ Multi-state licensure is required if this individual is providing services in multiple states.
**Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:**
+ Utilization Management experience is preferred.
For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $29.27 to $43.91.

Location: This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, with the exception of required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity, supports work-life integration, and ensures essential face-to-face onboarding and skill development. This position will be based at any Pulse Point available in Ohio, US

Schedule: This position will work an 8-hour from shift 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (EDT) Monday to Friday. Additional hours may be necessary based on company needs.
The Medical Management Clinician responsible for ensuring appropriate, consistent administration of plan benefits by reviewing clinical information and assessing medical necessity under relevant guidelines and/or medical policies. May collaborate with healthcare providers. Focuses on moderately complex case types that do not require the training or skill of a registered nurse.
How you will make an impact.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
* Responsible for moderately complex cases that may require evaluation of multiple variables against guidelines when procedures are not clear.
* Work may be facilitated, in part, by algorithmic or automated processes.
* Handles moderately complex benefit plans and/or contracts.
* Works on reviews that may require guidance by more senior colleagues and/or management.
* May serve as a resource to less experienced staff.
* Conducts and may approve precertification, concurrent, retrospective, out-of-network, and/or appropriateness of treatment setting reviews by assessing clinical information against appropriate medical policies, clinical guidelines, and the relevant benefit plan/contract.
* May process a medical necessity denial determination made by a Medical Director.
* May work directly with healthcare providers to obtain and understand clinical information.
* Refers complex or unclear reviews to higher level nurses and/or Medical Directors.
* May educate members about plan benefits and physicians. Does not issue medical necessity non-certifications.
Minimum Requirements:
* Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent. Requires a minimum of 4 years of clinical experience and/or utilization review experience.
* Current active, valid and unrestricted LPN/LVN license or RN license and/or certification to practice as a health professional within the scope of licensure in applicable state(s) or territory of the United States required.
* Multi-state licensure is required if this individual is providing services in multiple states.

An Assessment Specialist who excels in this role:
Receives inquiry calls and assists the caller with scheduling a face-to-face, phone, or tele-assessment-Triages individuals based on safety risk.
Assesses or ensures assessment by a qualified mental health professional of patients who present for assessment. Screens for medical and behavioral emergency conditions.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a current state RN license in Ohio and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities
Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing
CPR certification
Must be at least 21 years of age. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
Ability to sit and stand (one-third of the shift) and walk (two-thirds of the shift).
