This position is responsible for providing intensive home-based therapy to families in Burlington County and requires a flexible and non-traditional schedule, designed around the availability of the youth and families served.
Key Responsibilities
Carry small caseload of 4-6 families
Hold family sessions with each family 3 times a week scheduled at the convenience of the families
Provide treatment in families' homes, schools and other community settings as needed
Participate in weekly supervisions and clinical consultation meetings
Provide on-call availability to support families
Address behavioral health needs to support family functioning and stability.
Implement and adjust evidence-based intervention strategies to align with family goals
Collaborate with peers, DCP&P, and other community providers to ensure continuity of care and support for the family.
Complete necessary documentation required for Youth Villages Intercept program and Acenda.
Operates conscientiously in accordance with program budget (i.e., use of client engaging funds, office supplies).
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in social services with at least one year of experience in counseling or case management required.
Experience working with children and families, particularly families involved with the child welfare system and/or affected by trauma preferred.
Ability to facilitate positive interactions and work collaboratively with families.
Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle and an acceptable driving record.

Through DGS, clients and families have access to outpatient counseling, group therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, and school-based services. Our community-based service lines serve youth and families who require a more intense therapeutic protocol. DGS' 24-hour statewide Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) dispatches skilled crisis intervention clinicians to provide immediate care to children experiencing behavioral health crises. Therapeutic options are available for a wide range of diagnoses including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, traumatic stress-related disorders, and suicidal ideation. In 2021, DGS clinicians provided over 54,000 direct care hours to children, youth, and families in Delaware. Over 93% of clients report improvement in their level of functioning following treatment, and therapeutic benefits derived from trauma-informed care extend to clients' siblings, caregivers, classmates, and peers.

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION
Leadership
Coordinates the overall clinical direction of treatment for the children assigned to caseload, in collaboration with family and other treatment professionals.
Provides leadership in the treatment plan development and instruction and direction to other team members in implementing it.
Planning
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Conducts meetings to plan anticipated clinical needs of consumers.
• Develops treatment plan based on Functional Behavior Assessment, per agency and regulatory standards.
• Attends treatment team meetings, IEP meetings and ITM meetings, if they will inform the Functional Behavior Assessment.
Monitoring
• Ensures that the treatment goals, objectives and interventions are appropriate and fit the child and family's needs.
Direct Service
• Conducts observations of the child's behaviors in all appropriate settings.
• Provides interventions and feedback to the treatment team, based on the observations, during visitations.
Communication
• Initiates contact with family, school and other agencies [as identified] to understand client baseline and progress on the treatment plan.
• Clearly and effectively communicates program goals and directives to staff, families, school district personnel, agency staff and other providers of service.
• Collaborates with schools, families, funding source representatives and internal/external resources as appropriate.
• Collaborates with treatment teams, including Care Coordinator, to refer families to appropriate services to meet needs identified from Social Determinants Scale.
Documentation
• Documents all observations, data, case management activities, attendance at meetings, incidents, etc. within 72 hours (about 3 days) of service provision per agency policy and procedure.
• Creates Functional Behavior Assessment and Treatment Plan based on observations and data collected, per agency and regulatory standards.
• Documents all billable services, including all case management and collaboration activities.
• Completes incident reports within 24 hours when significant events occur.
• Functional Behavior Assessment with graph and Treatment Plan completed within 14 days of initial service.
BASIC SKILL SETS
• Ability to communicate and interact with staff and consultants.
• Ability to assess consumer treatment needs and apply appropriate therapeutic intervention.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from consumers and collateral agencies.
• Ability to give clear and concise oral and written instructions.
• Working knowledge of the Behavioral Health system. Knowledge of and ability to navigate other social service systems.
• Good working knowledge of theoretical models, therapeutic interventions and behavior modification as it relates to our consumer base.
• Ability to effectively implement conflict resolution skills in dealing with consumers and staff.
• Ability to respond in a culturally competent manner to consumer issues.
• Experience in psychosocial assessment and treatment planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Minimum Requirement - Master's Degree from an accredited university in a clinical mental health discipline AND completed clinical or MH practicum
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification or behavioral analysis certification
• Graduate degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
• Licensed BSC
• Experience: At least one year's full-time paid experience in the mental health field. Excellent working knowledge of clinical issues relating to children, adolescents and families.
• Familiar with multiple child-serving systems (e.g., education, juvenile justice, child welfare, mental health, drug and alcohol, health care and vocational rehab).
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Ability to walk up and down stairs.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs.
• Ability to operate a computer, printer and calculator.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle or access public transportation.
• Requires some flexible work schedules: evening and weekend hours.

The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) will provide Therapeutic Interventions that are strengths -based, culturally -competent and individualized. Utilizing multiple therapeutic modalities that engage the family dynamic, while emphasizing Positive Behavioral Support systems. Reducing maladaptive behaviors and building durable and sustainable positive behavioral changes and improvement in quality of life. Working from an individualized treatment support plan, providing definable outcomes and identified strategies for sustained progress.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing individual in -home therapy sessions and group therapy sessions in our outpatient center, perform bio -psycho - social assessments, Etc
Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment
Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies to deal with their problems. Encourages clients to express their feelings and to discuss what is happening in their lives and helps them develop insight into themselves and their relationships
Provide coping and social skills, anger management and reduce risk behaviors such as SIB or physical aggression
Collaborate effectively and consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and/or professionals from other disciplines who also work to support the youth and family
Collects information about clients through interviews, observations, and tests. Prepares and maintains treatment records and reports and updates and submits them in a timely fashion
Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge
Acts as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
Attend monthly meetings and submit mandatory weekly paperwork
Requirements

Must have at least 2 years of experience providing positive behavior supports, PECS, social stories, use of visual aids and implementing behavior support plans
Must have prior experience working with children ages 3 -20 and at least 1 -years of experience working with children with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD)
Must have Licensure for Licensed position: LPC
Must pass criminal background check including Finger Printing and TB Testing
Must have Valid a driver's license and registered vehicle
Bilingual is a plus, Spanish is preferred
