Providing guidance, consultation, and assistance to teachers in the development of classroom schedules, maintenance of student data systems and facilitation of student transition plans to assure appropriate schedules and services based on each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and/or other applicable goals.

‖ Qualifications Required:
Master's degree or higher in social work, educational counseling, therapy or a closely related field of study.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL professional educator license (PEL) school support personnel endorsement.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) credential.
Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management (PCM) training.
Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with severe learning disabilities, emotional disturbance and/or behavioral disorders.
Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), functional behavior analysis (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP's).

The Family Counselor is a critical member of the Youth Services team, providing crisis intervention, follow-up crisis stabilization, and short-term counseling and case management services to youth, age 11-23, and their families. The goal of the Youth Services program is to preserve and reunify families, to prevent placement of youth in the state child welfare or juvenile justice system due to runaway or lockout, and to prepare older youth for successful independent living. As a Family Counselor, you will meet with clients and families in their homes and other community-based locations, providing individualized services aimed at strengthening relationships, addressing trauma, and building positive community connections. The Family Counselor also coordinates services with other relevant providers and develop appropriate referral plans, completes thorough and timely documentation, including assessment and service notes, using a web-based client services platform, and provides after-hours support to remote field staff on an on-call rotation.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
Provides crisis intervention and conflict resolution with youth and their families as necessary.
Provides individual and family counseling according to program model.
Provides comprehensive case management services to a caseload of clients which includes needs assessment, service planning, case coordination, service brokerage, linkages with community resources, and monitoring progress toward client(s) goals and objectives and makes recommendations for on-going services when necessary.
Establishes trusting, nurturing, therapeutic relationships with clients and their families.
Arranges and/or provides services needed to meet the immediate needs of client(s).
Assesses youth and family functioning for safety, risk and protective factors and determines appropriate interventions.
Formulates service plans and goals with client(s), obtains supervisory approval of the plan, and is responsible for the implementation of the plan.
Analyzes and evaluates progress in the service plan and modifies when necessary to meet the needs and goals of the client(s).
Provides psychoeducation, including positive parent-youth interactions, problem-solving, adolescent development and positive parenting.
Candidate qualifications:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field, OR a Bachelor's degree in a human services field plus at least two years' related experience working with children and families.
Experience with high-risk youth and their families in crisis preferred.
Counseling experience or training preferred.
Valid driver's license, insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle required.
Effective listening and trust-focused relationship-building skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation: Salary Range $47k-$51k; offers are commensurate with experience.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Adult and Family Counselor is responsible for providing trauma-informed individual, family, and group counseling services for adults, youth, and children at Between Friends. This position is also responsible for promoting the program's counseling services and offering trauma-informed services to the community.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program-Clinical (70%)
Provides individual, group, and family counseling services, crisis intervention, case management, and referrals to children, youth, and adults as determined by client and community needs.
Carry a caseload of at least 15 individual clients and facilitate at least one group per week.
Plans, implements, and evaluates the counseling services for adults and their families in coordination with the Counseling & Support Services Manager
Helps victims of domestic violence understand their rights and the legal remedies available to them under the Illinois Domestic Violence Act
Assists clients in obtaining a referral to file Crime Victim's Compensations
Provides outreach and education to the community about the services available to teens, children and adults at Between Friends
Provides individual economic counseling with clients, which includes enrollment, completing an assessment, and collaborating with a client to establish, review, and complete goals on an economic stability plan
Leads the clinical meeting once a month and actively participates in case presentations and program-related discussions at the weekly clinical meeting.
Facilitates applicable sessions for the agency's 40-hour domestic violence training.
Administrative (30%)
Maintains updated and accurate case documentation and submits necessary information to the Counseling & Support Services Manager for reporting
Enters data into InfoNet database
Participates in individual and group clinical supervision

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Certification, & Licenses:

Experience & Skills:

Who You Are
Are a Psychologist or Master's level therapist (required)
