Job Summary
Pioneers Center serves as the only short-term emergency shelter for kids (ages 12-18) who do not have immediate access to another safe living arrangement in southeast Nebraska. Kids may be referred to the Pioneers Center because of a history of abuse, neglect or domestic violence; alternative to juvenile detention; interruption of a foster care placement; homelessness; hospitalization of a parent/guardian; or for short-term stabilization. A variety of levels of care are offered at the Pioneers Center. Crisis stabilization is a more intensive level of care that involves the support of a CEDARS therapist. To prevent youth from being placed outside the home, CEDARS also offers Basic Center services to families who are not involved in Child Welfare or the Juvenile Justice System.
Responsibilities
Maintain safety and supervision of youth
Complete daily documentation of youth in care
Build relationships with youth and provide support
Provide transportation to and from school, appointments, activities or visits
Engage youth in life skills, educational activities and outings
Requirements
Must be 21 years of age of older
High School Diploma or GED required, Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred
At least 1 year of experience working with youth and families is preferred
Must have a passion for helping youth in crisis

Job Duties:
As a Mental Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in the care of patients at Lincoln Regional Center to include:
* Monitors the safety and security of patients within assigned unit.

* Interacts with patients in care to instruct, orient and assist patients with program goals; report and/or document care delivery and observations.
* Monitors, provides and assists with activities of daily living including, feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting and other personal hygiene activities.
* Maintains safe and sanitary environment by performing laundry, housekeeping, and infections control standards.
* Recognizes emergency or crisis situations and intervenes as necessary utilizing appropriate behavioral interventional programs, verbal de-escalation techniques, and/or provide physical intervention that includes restraining patients. React in a calm, professional manner to support patients. Maintains a positive attitude with patients served and staff.
* Administer medication or first aid treatment, including lifesaving procedures.
* Lifts and repositions patients.
* Escorts and transports patients to appointments and activities inside or outside the facility.
* Objectively documents information related to patient care and activities. Uses computer programs to document and record patient data.
* Attends required in-service education and staff meetings related to continued employment and skill development.
* Participates in team meetings and activities.
Work Schedule: Full-time and On-Call positions available:
1st Shift (6:45am - 3:15pm), 2nd Shift (2:45pm - 11:15pm), and 3rd Shift (11:00pm-7:00am). Will work a combination of 12 and 8 Hour Shifts.
On-Call: Requires working 32 hours (minimum) per month, 16 hours have to be weekend hours (2:45pm Fridays - 7:00am Mondays), and you must work 1 major holiday per year.
Scheduling will be discussed at interview to include 12 hour and 8 hour shifts.
3 sets of scrubs will be furnished by LRC to all Full-Time Mental Health Specialists.
Pay Rate: Starting pay rate $27.320/hour plus additional shift differential pay for 2nd shift and 3rd shift.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Be at least 19 years of age to work with adult client populations; be at least 21 years of age to work with adolescent client populations. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent education.
Preferred Qualifications: One year or more combined experience or education in human services, customer service, or military service.
Other: Must have a valid driver's license. This position requires proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the language effectively. State agencies are responsible to evaluate each of their positions to determine their individual overtime eligibility status as required by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Incumbents are required to work regularly scheduled shifts with predictable attendance and work overtime up to and including entire shifts. These positions are subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post disaster, etc.) Positions classified to this class may be exposed to infectious waste, communicable diseases, and blood and airborne pathogens such as TB, HIV and Hepatitis. May work with potentially dangerous patients. May be Required to acquire and maintain a Medication Aide certification. Must maintain an active Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, (CPR) certification, and behavioral intervention certification courses for facility requirements. Positions in this class may require an employee to possess a valid driver's license and provide a passenger vehicle with adequate liability insurance.

Position Summary
As an MST Therapist, you'll work with your clinical team to develop weekly case plans and evaluate client and family progress within the MST model. You'll be able to utilize your clinical training along with MST's expert supervision as you manage a caseload of no more than 6 families and experience the creativity and freedom to work in the client's home, school, and community to meet their unique needs.
Unlike outpatient counseling positions, MST productivity goals are set at only 20 hours per week (with phone calls and case management time included as billable time), with bonus pay for additional sessions!

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This person will provide services to engage client's children and non-residential family members into participation to support the women's recovery program. Intense therapeutic responsibilities begin at this level, including individual and family mental health and substance abuse counseling. Educational requirements are very specific. Decision making skills and problem-solving capabilities are critical. Highly developed interpersonal skills and case management capabilities must be present. Works within a wide range of program caseload of moderate difficulty.
Compensation: between $50,000 and $63,255 per year (salary is based on total years of relevant experience)
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy
Two or more years' experience
LMHP or PLMHP required
LADC or PLADC or substance use treatment experience preferred
Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*Provides contact to all non-residential participants important to mother's treatment and provides assessments and counseling when needed. This will include evening or weekend appointments.
*Provides child assessments to assess mother-child bond and makes recommendations to improve attachment.
*Provides parent-child therapy with program participants as needed.
*Coordinates and assists in collecting needed records for cross-site evaluation data and client files, particularly for the non-residential family members.
*Determines whether client is appropriate for agency services; determines needed level of care; refers (internal or external) to appropriate level of care.
Conducts a comprehensive intake interview, including 5 axis diagnostic impression and treatment recommendations.
*Establishes a treatment plan, with client participation, which specifies treatment structure, outcomes, goals and objectives.
*Provides individual and group substance abuse and mental health treatment in accordance with best practices.
*Provides educational workshops, classes and presentations on family life and other related topics as assigned.
*Provides counseling to individuals, couples and families in group or individual settings, within the framework of the treatment plan and monitors progress.
*Works as a team member with other program staff to provide trauma-informed care to clients.
*Administers clinical measures to monitor client progress and program effectiveness.
*Handles cases of the highest degree of complexity.
*Provides mental health crisis intervention as needed.
*Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
Meets clinical requirements of third-party payers (authorizations, reviews, documentation) and provides information necessary for prompt and accurate billing.
Maintains relationships with referral sources.
Coordinates care when provided by multiple practitioners.
Refers to other Heartland Family Service programs and other community services, as necessary either concurrent with services or for aftercare; follows up to complete referral.
Completes all case documentation for clinical and billing purposes.
Maintains clinical record, meeting established standards of timeliness and completeness.
Is prompt and accurate in completing all required reports, statistics and other requirements.
Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
*Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.

POSITION-SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist primary health care providers in recognizing and treating mental disorders and psychosocial problems.
Assess the clinical status of patients referred
Completes clinical documentation according to policies and procedures (CDHC and DHHS 206 regulations)
Work with primary care team to treat and manage patients with chronic emotional and/or mental health problems
Assist in the detection of "at risk" patients and the development of relapse plans to prevent further psychological or physical complications
Attend and participate in required meeting and activities
Serve as a trustworthy member of the Behavioral Health Team
Abide by State and Federal guidelines as it pertains to code of ethics, code of conduct, billing submission and therapeutic relationships
Work diligently and professionally with internal and external partners
Work effectively and efficiently with the adolescent population, their families and other identified members
Comfortable with use of Windows operating system ( Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
If provisional, employee should meet all requirements of the state of NE and agree to close supervision
Actively work towards obtaining full LIMHP credential

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master's Degree
Experience: At least one year of experience working closely with youth and families in a close capacity
Licensure: Licensed as a Provisional Mental Health Therapist in the State of Nebraska (PLMHP) required, fully licensed (LIMHP) preferred.
Expertise: Working towards knowledge of evidence-based treatments for mental health conditions. Some comfort in working with primary care medical providers using a consultative style. Ability to learn and work through brief patient contacts, including via telephone and teleconferencing with supervision. Ability to learn to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected mental and behavioral conditions with supervision if needed. Ability to work effectively as a team, interfacing with patients, primary care providers and administrative and support staff. Ability to effectively represent CDHC's interests in the community and maintain effective working relationships among co-workers, public, private, and professional groups. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
