The Adult Military and Family Life Counselor (Adult-MFLC) position offers a unique opportunity to serve a vital role, in providing non-medical support, which includes counseling, consultation, and outreach, to service members, military family members and eligible staff. Non-medical counseling is preventive in nature and aims to address and provide solution focused approaches to issues before they become greater challenges. Service members, spouses and family members face unique emotional and environmental challenges due to the stress of military life. This is an opportunity for you to reach them where and when you are most needed. Adult-MFLC responsibilities include: Face-to-face counseling to military service members and their families (individuals, couples, and families). Observe, participate, and engage in activities with service members, military spouses and families; provide coaching, guidance and support to installation staff; and model behavior management techniques for staff and military family members. The Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is a member of the Behavioral Health Service Line (BHSL) and functions within the outpatient Mental Health Clinic, an interdisciplinary program, at the Junction City CBOC. Provide a full range of assessment, providing formal diagnosis of mental disorders using DSM-5-TR criteria and determination of psychosocial functioning and needs of the Veteran, with collaborative input from family members, partners, and other identified supports. 2. Provide psychosocial and mental health education to patients, family members, partners, and other identified supports. 3. Provide comprehensive recovery and psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, family, and group psychotherapy, and including tele-mental health services, based on research and family systems theory. 4. Develop, implement, and document the psychotherapeutic treatment recovery plan for an assigned caseload of patients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders and program measurement-based care instruments. 6. Family Services are delivered in compliance with VHA Directive 1163.04 Family Services. Administrative Responsibilities: 1.     Job Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Completes admission assessments per agency procedure for all new or returning clients. Facilitates individual, family and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents and families. Psychotherapy processes may be provided in the office, the client home, school or community. Provides crisis intervention with families as deemed appropriate. Works closely with the client, family, teachers, school professionals and the treatment team to identify treatment goals, objectives and discharge criteria. Ability to work effectively with individuals with complex needs and multi-system involvement. Maintains regular contact with school personnel and is available for consultation regarding individual and school-based mental health issues/concerns. Participates in the collection of mental health and student outcomes data to be used for the monitoring of the overall performance and effectiveness of services provided. Ability to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems. Meets productivity expectation of Family Service & Guidance Center. Be familiar in the philosophy of WrapAround Services both for the purpose of assessing needs and delivering services. Participates in weekly team meetings for the purpose of case assignments, case review, individual case planning and collaboration with team members. Completes clinical documentation (admission assessments, progress notes, 90 day progress reviews, referrals for other services, etc.) in compliance with time lines established by Family Service & Guidance Center's Quality Assurance standards as well as those set by funding sources. Provides clinical oversight of clinical cases and direct treatment among multiple Family Service & Guidance Center providers when assigned the role of primary provider. Master's or Doctoral Level Psychologists may be assigned the responsibility of completing psychological testing under the supervision of the licensed psychologist coordinating assessment services. Respect and demonstrate ability to maintain client confidentiality. Expected to stay informed of agency developments by reading memorandums and other agency related written communication. Act as an ambassador of Family Service & Guidance Center in the community setting. This may include doing public educational and informational presentations. Supports and actively promotes the vision and mission of Family Service & Guidance Center and the philosophy of the strengths perspective. Other duties as assigned by respective supervisor/manager. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education/Licensure: Master's degree in a recognized mental health discipline. Valid license to practice in the state of Kansas required; advanced licensure preferred; LAC also preferred. Active membership in professional organizations strongly encouraged. Must successfully pass the KBI, DCF Central Registry and all background investigations. Must possess a valid driver's license, a good driving record, current auto insurance and reliable transportation. Experience: 2+ years' experience with children and families in school based services required. Passion and desire to work with children and adolescents.     Description: Job Title: Crisis Clinician Department: Crisis Response Center Reports to: Crisis Response Center Manager Job Classification: Exempt, full-time Under the supervision of the Crisis Response Center Manager, Crisis Clinicians are part of the clinical team and provide judgment free assessments and interventions to individuals who are experiencing an acute behavioral health crisis via televideo screenings and over the phone crisis support. Crisis Clinicians provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, and supportive counseling with the goal of connecting individuals with the necessary resources and to help support the individual in their treatment and recovery. Essential Job Responsibilities: Conduct crisis assessments which include assessing for risk and safety, interventions, and appropriate referrals. Work in collaboration with the individual served, family members or others they want involved in their treatment and other treatment team members (internal and external) to help support the individual in their treatment and recovery. Provide person-centered services with a rehabilitation and recovery focus designed to promote skills for coping with and managing behavioral health symptoms. Provide education, supportive counseling, problem solving, role modeling, referral, advocacy and other information as needed. Coordinate and facilitate referrals to appropriate services in the community, including but not limited to behavioral health care and substance use services. Remain prepared to quickly respond to calls at all times during scheduled shift, when not providing a televideo service. Attend Care and Treatment hearings for individuals referred for involuntary hospitalization. Complete all documentation from screen accurately and before conclusion of shift. All other documentation should be completed within 24-hours including any occurrence/incident reports as necessary. Complete and remain current in all agency and program trainings. Credentialing requests should be completed within the first 24-hours of shift schedule. Establish appropriate and professional boundaries with persons served and treaters. Treat all individuals with dignity and respect at all times. Consistently demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team as well as individually. Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
