In this position you will handle litigation throughout the state of Nevada from title insurance and business claims.
Responsible for providing high quality and cost-effective legal representation. Demonstrates superior knowledge and expertise in the litigation process and provides excellent client service as part of a legal team. Responsible for independent, aggressive case handling with a resolution and management focus.
Litigates cases to verdict, demonstrating superior use of trial skills and techniques. Ability to independently handle a full to moderate caseload with moderate level of severity and complexity from case inception through trial/resolution. Works under the guidance of Senior Counsel in litigating complex and high exposure files. Conducts legal research as necessitated and supervises research projects delegated to Associate Counsel and paralegals. Independently drafts pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other file documents. Attends court events and other appointments independently. Learns and understands claim customer's expectations and key department business goals and assists them in meeting those goals. Handles and actively seeks opportunities to become involved in special projects and on committees. Provides recommendations and case analysis to business partners on appropriate file handling strategy. Integrates legal support staff into case handling process. Builds and maintains superior internal and external client relationships. Completes all required administrative tasks including time reporting, closed cases, reports and other materials appropriate to performance of job duties. Effectively makes use of technology and automation in the practice of law. Adheres to all standards of excellence in file management.
Travels as required to meet business needs. Ability to mentor and train less experienced counsel and legal support staff. Provide advice and training to claim partners and clients.
Graduation from an accredited law school with a strong academic record, 2-5 years or equivalent legal experience. Insurance and real estate litigation work exposure desirable. Demonstrated track record of trial skills and techniques.
Articulate presentation skills using technology. Strong and persuasive legal writing skills and oral advocacy skills. Ability to clearly and succinctly articulate position. Ability to effectively understand and utilize technology and automation resources, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Products, Voice Recognition Technology, Legal Files, Trial Director and other law office management programs.

Role Overview:
Activate Care is seeking full time, hybrid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Supervisors to oversee Community Health Worker (CHW) teams within designated service areas. ROLE of the POSITION
Student Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a Psychological Assistant/Staff Psychologist/Senior Staff Psychologist position. CAPS is an IACS-Accredited center within the Student Wellness unit that includes the departments of Student Health Center, Care Center, Wellness Education and Health Promotion, Disability Resource Center, Military and Veteran Services, and the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities. Licensure for independent practice as a psychologist is required and Nevada licensure for independent practice is required prior to the start of employment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Thyme Care Oncology Social Worker, you'll be a vital resource for our members and their care network, offering comprehensive psychosocial, emotional support during their cancer journey via phone, email, text, and telemedicine.
Assessment and support: Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify patients' and families' needs, providing individual and family support to address emotional concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, adjustment and coping mechanisms related to cancer diagnosis and treatment. Assess for and address financial toxicity, distress, changes in relationships/roles, custody planning, caregiver demands, advance care planning, and spiritual/existential distress.
Resource linkage: Identifying and connecting patients and families with relevant community resources when there are complex social needs.
Care coordination: Collaborating with the healthcare team, including oncologists, nurses, and other specialists, to ensure patients receive coordinated care and address any social or emotional barriers impacting treatment adherence.
Advocacy: Advocating for patients' needs with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and other relevant agencies to access necessary treatment and support services.
Crisis intervention: Providing immediate support and intervention in crises such as sudden changes in prognosis or end-of-life decisions.
Education and support group facilitation: Leading support groups for cancer patients and their families, providing education on cancer-related topics, and facilitating peer-to-peer support.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

This position works within a multi-disciplinary team and serves as liaison for patients/families with medical personnel and community resources. This position provides optimal patient care by utilizing both professional mental health counseling skills and knowledge of community resources. To minimize patient stress and maximize coping skills in managing their cancer diagnosis and treatment process.
Nature and Scope
This position provides services/intervention for patients and families referred to the Institute for Cancer; demonstrating the ability to work with patients' physical, cognitive, emotional and psychosocial needs specific to the population being served. This position provides psychosocial services to patients and families in an outpatient setting to lessen the stress experienced due to a cancer diagnosis and the treatment process, to enhance patient and family coping skills, and maximize patient outcomes. This position has the authority to make psychosocial assessments and involving patients and families; to make mental health recommendations and referrals; to initiate and follow through on referral plans; and to prioritize caseload needs. When possible, the family/caregiver or those having a significant impact on patient outcomes are considered part of the social worker's evaluation and intervention process. This position also provides comprehensive case management for cancer patients in the outpatient setting, including community resource referrals, contacts with cancer-related foundations and serving as liaison with medical and social service providers. Additionally, the incumbent will serve on the Cancer Committee and assist with accreditation guidelines with regard to measuring/monitoring patient distress and provide appropriate services to address this guideline
The outpatient social worker will assume responsibility for documenting all significant patient contact in a progressnote in the EHR. This position works independently, seeking out supervision and consultation as needed. This position is also available for consultation, providing oversight of a Social Worker I, and supervision of bachelor and master level social work interns.
Additional responsibilities include planning/implementing psycoeducational programs, providing quarterly reports for Renown Cancer Committee, attending weekly Cancer Conferences, Cancer Support Services meetings, all applicable department staff meetings. This position also participates in community outreach efforts, actively supports community agencies and foundations with cancer-related events, and is available for public speaking engagements as authorized by Administration. The social worker performs all clerical duties associated with the essential functions of this position.
The major challenges to this position is providing support to patients, families and staff in mentally and emotionally stressful situations, keeping abreast of relevant cutting edge developments, participating in continuing education to maintain a current knowledge base of social work practice, and demonstrating excellent time management skills to accommodate for varying caseloads. Other related duties may be required.
This position has the authority to review and evaluate each case; establish work priorities; and differentiate between services the hospital can provide and those services, which can be provided more appropriately by the community.
