OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Under general administrative direction, work collaboratively with staff and families to ensure delivery of services to all children including those with identified disabilities participating in the Early Head Start/Head Start and Dept. of Education programs.

Provide and ensure compliance within the Early Head Start Home Base services.
Develop, maintain and track all Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) and Individual Education Plans (IEP), children's progress reports and all record-keeping documentation in cooperation with Head Start Performance Standards.
Work collaboratively with staff and parents about issues related to atypical behavior or development and the individual needs of children.
Conduct on site behavioral screenings on children within 45 days of enrollment.

General Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Community Services for Families Program Supervisor, the Mental Health Therapist will provide assessment services for CSF families with children 0-18 and have domestic violence as the reason for the referral. Complete and submit a written follow up report of assessment findings to referring party within 10 business days including assessment tools used, outcomes for each family member, type and level of services recommended, likelihood of a successful treatment outcomes, formal and informal interventions to strengthen family functioning to ensure child safety, prevention services to mitigate future effects of current child trauma, Family Centered Meetings attended, CSF referrals, and other information.
Participates in Child and Family Team Meetings to discuss client progress in services and support them in achieving their case plan goals.
Participates in Multi-Disciplinary Teams with County staff as needed.
Participates in quarterly CSF countywide peer review process to discuss service delivery and improve upon best practices.
Maintains ongoing communication with the CSF team to ensure quality of service delivery.
Maintains detailed case files and documentation utilizing County approved forms and formats.
Produces monthly reports of activities and submits to the CSF Supervisor.
Remains culturally sensitive and respectful in all client and staff interactions.

SUMMARY
Family Therapists provide children, youth, and their families an array of culturally competent and trauma-informed therapeutic services, and work in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. Formulates, monitors, and revises a comprehensive client plan, which addresses specific short-term and long-term goals, for the child and family based on assessments and input from the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Assists families in creating crisis/safety plans as needed to prevent/respond to unsafe behaviors or environments that may exist in the home or community.
Follows Medi-Cal, County BHS, and PWB requirements, including those related to teaming, collaboration, documentation, use of proper service codes, scheduling of CFT meetings, and other responsibilities as assigned.
Facilitates a wide array of therapeutic interventions within individual/family therapy based on relevant EBPs and best practice models (e.g., TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Discipline, PCIT-PRIDE Skills, etc.).
Maintains accurate, complete, and timely records per applicable regulations and requirements (e.g., EPSDT, PWB).
Maintains strong commitment to CYFSOC principles in the treatment provided to youth and families.
Utilizes supervision, consultation, and training to provide high quality services in an effective manner.
COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION
Maintains regular communication with FFA Social Worker (minimum twice monthly), County Social Worker (minimum once monthly), and other important team members (biological parents, teachers, CASA's, psychiatrist, etc.). to coordinate treatment efforts and connect youth to community resources as needed.

Assist in the development and presentation of staff in-service trainings regarding early intervention, and other related topics as directed.
Attend IFSP/IEP meetings as directed.
Perform other assignments as needed based on associate's expertise, knowledge, ability or needs of the program.
Qualifications
Knowledge of policies and procedures of the California Department of Education, Child Development Division and the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing program regulations, funding terms and conditions (Title 5 and Title 22).
Bachelor's degree or higher in related field of Psychology, Child Development, or Special Education.
Must have successfully completed an Infant toddler class from an accredited college with a B grade or better.
Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups. Must relate well to children and their families.
Exercise sound judgment, establish and meet timelines, plan. Coordinate and implement school site programs.
Possession of pediatric (infant/toddler) CPR and first aid certificate.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other related computer software.
Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to reach, bend, stoop squat. Also possess fine manual dexterity, can push, pull, talk/hear, with near and far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field of vision.
Pass FBI, DOJ and Criminal Background Check
Ability to travel locally, maintain clean driving record, proper auto insurance and vehicle registration.
