There are opportunities if you are willing to work closely with the Union/AFL-CIO
The management can seem unreasonable and uncomfortable. They have an old and outdated oppressive management style, which results in high turnovers and low morale.
They make great presentations.
I would listen to my employees and make the feel seen and heard. The company rises with each employee that it Elevates.
Marriott is still below the industry average, but Union Members are able to fight for fair compensation.
The company seem diversified, but there is a culture of oppression and no in inclusion for certain groups, if they want to be fairly compensated or promoted within the company.
Coworkers, environment, and somewhat expression.
Opportunity, leadership, and lack of vision
Learning about myself through guest and staff
Respect through or without the lack of vision
Saving time, space, energy, labor, and cost
Being honest about myself
Through my experience, the industry average lacks the confidence to admit how profitable I truly am for Marriott International by suffering in a world of envy
The goal definitely meets guest satisfaction for the very most part!
Our limited time on this Earth is the real money! As long as I’m happy at home, on vacation, spare time, and most of all at work… that’s joy
Great place to work easy to talk to management, coworkers were easy to teamwork with
Not much flexibility, black out dates were months long.
Paid Time off, Vacation, Sick Hours
Healthcare benefits, 401k, And hotel discounts
It depends which hotel You work. Tampa Renaissance was a very ill managed environment, the same issues were never resolved. Always had new assistant managers who were eager to change things for the better, but were quickly discouraged by upper management. This trickled to the service staff. Certain people did whatever they wanted, but were almost never reprimanded or dismissed for their unprofessional behavior. Breakfast shift was the hardest and the least lucrative. A lot of responsibility to set up breakfast buffet and keep it stocked, and serve ktables at the same time. It was extremely frustrating having to do this because the buffet should be a cook’s responsibility NOT the server who makes $5 hour.
Hotel discounts and profit sharing
Sense of belonging, communication between teams and departments, professionalism, reliable team.
I enjoyed working there, unfortunately I was not able to continue due to COVID 19
Health insurance 401K
I am working as a housekeeper and I like when my customer is satisfied after I have finished cleaning their room and I'm always happy when my scores range from 96-100 for cleaning.
There are days that the turn over is very high you get home and you are very tired but still is not bad because extra work equals extra money and managers even assist and some times drop us home when is too late.
I have learned a lot , Knowledge from customers friends, managers, supervisors . I got the desire to further my education from Marriott because they encourage education.
managers and quality of staff
work schedule is not flexible
health insurance, retirement plan
Care for employees
Quota system
Hotel incentives for travel to other countries and cities.
Working with a great team to put together great events. We stayed organized and knew when to designate different projects.
I wish I had more control over what we could do and make things a bit more exciting.
There was a discount code you could use as an employee to receive discounted rooms at other hotels in the Marriott Hotel Chain. Also, we were allowed to enjoy the continental breakfast in the morning occasionally.
I love the ability to interact and assist upwards of 1000 new guests each day. I have also had the opportunity to build strong relationships with hundreds of our repeat guests. Finally, I enjoy how the entire staff works as one large team. Members of our sales team often assist our Housekeeping/Front Desk Teams on busy days, just as our Rooms Division often helps our Events Team when needed.
I love everything about the hotel, although I often work so many different shifts per week (for example: three mornings and two evenings).
We have excellent health insurance and I enjoy the travel discounts.
I love the company culture, leadership style, how I was trained and mentored to succeed at my job.
Hotel Room Discount
I liked that employees worked together as a team to accomplish goals.
I truly enjoyed working at Marriott: however, managers were required to work 50 hours a week.
I would have to say the travel discounts.
Diverse, great culture, great benefits, co-workers are everything
No work-life balance, works weekends and holidays. Long work week (50 hours for management). Pay dependent on overtime. Annual reviews come with pay increases that are a joke even with a great review (35 cent increase added to my hourly rate). Not a "covid proof" job
discounted room rates, great health, yearly employee appreciation week activities.
income, the ability to move up, positive feedback
corporate environment often leads to impersonal interactions with managerial positions
recognition, rewards
The interaction with people, the make my schedule accordingly to my college schedule, I have learn to prioritize the customer, to work fast pace and under a lot of pleasure while keeping a positive attitude.
Poor food and beverage management, some of the people work along with me including my manager don’t have vision, don’t want to work hard to get to the next level, everyone is in their comfort zone.
Health insurance for me and my child.
Interactions with the guests and team
Lack of structural support
The 401k match and discounted hotel rates
The feeling of a team working together toward a common goal.
No work/life balance. Fluctuating schedule.
Healthcare and hotel room discounts
I enjoy working with my co-workers and management. I enjoy meeting the guests and talking to the guests. I enjoy preparing meals for the guests.
I sometimes don't like interacting with impatient and rude guests. I don't like it when another co-worker doesn't show and it makes my job much harder.
Paid vacation
