Qualifications High school diploma preferred. One (1) year of previous paint and paperhanging experience preferred. Must have hand and finger dexterity necessary to accomplish duties. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time during a shift. Other physical requirements include but are not limited to grasping, reaching, climbing, kneeling, bending, and twisting. Must possess knowledge of necessary equipment and the appropriate safety standards. Knowledge of all necessary hand tools and painting equipment. Must be able to match paint and wallpaper colors. Must have excellent communication skills. Proficient in the use of company computer programs to include email and ordering systems. Utilization of company work order system to start and complete work orders based on priority. Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses. QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. To perform these duties the individual will be required to have experience in using basic hand and power tools and ability to stoop, kneel, grasp, lift, push and pull weights up to 80 pounds, climb ladders up to 30 feet high and reach in all directions, often times overhead. Maintain a clean environment by picking up and removing debris on property. Electrical rooms throughout facilities must stay clean and locked at all times, reporting and repairing any and all safety conditions. This position will require a combination of these functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the club. Have considerable knowledge of paint, varnish, stain, enamels, lacquers, wall coverings, masonry work and other related products and mixing procedures of such products. Wash, scrape, sand, and/or smooth surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering, or applying other related materials using proper application and techniques. Apply protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to interior and exterior of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other structures. Install, repair, and maintain drywall, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing. Apply paint, stain, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces as appropriate and according to Materials Safety Data Sheets, ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines. Maintain existing paint surfaces through matching and tinting of appropriate paint products. Identify colors and patterns, measure lengths and quantities, and assess areas for repair. Plaster or spackle surfaces, apply paint to all building and equipment surfaces with brushes, rollers and spray guns. Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces throughout the club. Hang vinyl, paper, fabric, and foil wall coverings of various weights. Maintain and repair caulked, grouted and masonry surfaces throughout the club. Caulk, grout, plaster, and set tiles, cider block/brick and cement work. Prepare and maintain wood surfaces using stain, varnish, and lacquer. Apply alcohol or water stains and develop a finished product from unstained wood and existing finished wood. Be skilled in the use of related tools including brushes, rollers, sprayers, scrapers, sand paper, lifts, and other basic hand tools. Have considerable knowledge of OSHA standards and application for working with chemicals. Grasp, lift and/or carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 80 lbs. Work in confined areas. Work and reach in all directions including overhead for extended periods. Work on scaffolding. Visually identify and locate existing problems. Create exceptional experiences by taking ownership, showing respect and caring for the needs of members, guests, and coworkers by practicing the Ocean Reef Club Promises. Ensure that when using paint, stain and solvents that proper ventilation and safety equipment is used. Ensure that all areas not being textured, painted and stained are completely covered with drop cloths or plastic. Ensure that proper notification is given to the other departments or employees where work is being done. Ensure to maintain a complete paint or drywall supply stock in a storage area for repairs or painting touchups needing to be done throughout entire facilities. Ensure to maintain a painting schedule for the touch up throughout the facilities. To ensure efficiency, bring all supplies and tools needed to complete the project or repairs to the area in which you are working. Then return all tools to their rightful place. Ensure that the work area is cleaned before you leave. This means you might have to dust, mop, vacuum, sweep, or rearrange items moved in the process of the work getting done. Ensure that all Building, Health and Fire Department codes are followed in regard to the painting or drywall trade. Ensure to follow the OSHA requirement for safety when working alone, around other employees, and/or our guests using the public areas. Ensure that MSDS sheets are maintained for every paint, stain and solvents that is used in the painting department. Ensure that a purchase order is written for every part or supply needed after the approval of Director of Facilities. Ensure that the daily or weekly checklist is followed in its entirety. Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Perform other duties assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED required. Good communication skills, ability to perform in a fast paced environment. Minimum of 2 years experience, preferably from a hotel. Able to work any shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime as needed. Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to secondhand smoke and high noise level.Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
