Mars Hill University company history timeline

1897

A turning point was reached in 1897 when Doctor Robert L. Moore became president and launched a period of stability.

1904

Albert E. Brown, the son of the university's first president, W.A.G. Brown, and the Department of Mountain Mission Schools, established by the Baptist Home Mission Board in 1904.

1952

1967

MARS HILL - Mars Hill University will host a discussion with Charles W. Deweese, a 1967 MHU alumnus and author of "Baptist Mountain Mission Schools," at 4 p.m.

2016

In September 2016, the university opened Troy and Pauline Day Hall and Ferguson Health Sciences Center.

2018

Following an extensive presidential search, in March 2018, the Mars Hill University Board of Trustees introduced former Coker College Executive Vice President Tony Floyd as their choice for the university’s 22nd president.
