The Electrical Estimator position is responsible for producing accurate and timely full-cost project estimates, including materials and labor. This position is responsible for preparing requests for quotations, securing competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, and drafting proposals while meeting specialist requirements, as necessary. WHAT YOU WILL DO As an Electrical Estimator, you will prepare electrical cost estimates for diverse projects, including conceptual, design-build, and general tender work, regardless of size or complexity. Independently calculate materials, labor, and equipment costs based on proposals, plans, and specifications, including project closings. Review specific and detailed data to determine material and labor requirements. Compute cost factors for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, scheduling work, bidding, vendor selection, subcontracting, and cost-effectiveness analysis. Draft requests for quotations (RFQs) to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors. Collaborate with project teams to garner support and commitment for cost estimates. Use estimating software such as Accubid for precise cost calculations. Analyze current practices and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements, and recommend process improvements. Collaborate with other estimators and the Director of Estimating to establish project indirect costs and overheads for each estimate. Mentor and support junior estimators, assisting with quantity take-offs and quotations. Perform additional duties as assigned to achieve company objectives. Essential Functions: 1. Interview, assess, screen, and approve admissions of youth for services at YCSF. 2. Assist with admissions process on site, assisting families with paperwork completion and orientation of youth to the program. 3. Supervise the youth coordinator, providing weekly individual supervision, review and sign off on youth care plans and service recommendations/resources. 4. Facilitate treatment and value-added groups for the youth including but not limited to DBT skills, sex education, healthy relationships, cultural awareness, substance use, independent living and life skills for 8 youth across the gender spectrum, ages 10-17 years old. 5. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the Madison office and across the entire Shive-Hattery ecosystem on local, regional, and national projects. Working closely with the Madison Office leadership, Business Unit and Market Leaders, you will be apart of a team creating and then implementing business development strategies to grow relationships, win new work, and expand the Shive-Hattery architectural practice locally and regionally.
