Marshall University, located in Huntington, West Virginia, is a public research university with some nationally recognized programs. Eight distinctive undergraduate and graduate colleges make up Marshall University's departmental offerings. The school offers over 40 bachelor's and graduate programs and two associate's degrees. The colleges of Fine Arts, Science, Business, Education and Human Services, and Medicine and schools devoted to Journalism, Engineering and health professions are the divisions that comprise Marshall University. Most notable are Marshall's graduate program in Forensic Science, one of very few in the nation, and its nationally acknowledged Business programs. As a research-focused university, Marshall engages in both graduate and undergraduate research at its top-notch facilities. Marshall's undergraduate and graduate students may also benefit from the rich cultural and recreational offerings. An internationally touring jazz ensemble, a professional artists series, athletic, recreation and student organizations are some of Marshall's extracurricular opportunities. Services include a 24-hour police escort service, tutoring, career services and financial aid offerings. While Marshall is a residential university with campus-housing, there are also non-residential campus centers, mostly geared towards graduate study.
