    Campus Service Workers perform various functions to ensure building environments are kept clean following established procedures on an assigned schedule. This is an evening shift position. General Duties: Operates various mechanical cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, carpet extractors, pressure washers, etc. Maintains facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning, and sanitizing surfaces. Disinfects high touch areas daily upon request or during seasonal issues (e.g; flu season, etc) Disposes of trash, waste, and other disposable materials as required. Cleans accessible interior and exterior windows as needed, per schedule and upon request. Cleans and disinfects restroom and shower facilities daily including (but not limited to); floors, wash basins, mirrors, urinals, commodes, etc. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floors, stairwells, elevators, and related areas. Dusts and Polishes furniture and required surfaces. Provide coverage to additional areas when co-workers are absent. Restocks paper supplies and soap in dispensers when necessary. Mixes and dilutes various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc. When necessary or when scheduled; mops, strips, and refinishes floor surfaces manually or using mechanical equipment. Upon request, pressure washes exterior items campus wide (including but not limited to): entryways, sidewalks, benches, windows, etc. Maintains inventory of cleaning agents and equipment. Maintains cleaning equipment. Locks and unlocks assigned building(s) and interior areas per schedule or when advised by supervisor. Cleans and maintains the sidewalk area 15 feet from exterior doors to include shoveling snow or ice and removing leaves and other debris. Moves furniture as needed. Assist in the set-up and/or tear down for special events. Reports any needed building repairs or safety issues to supervisor. Comply with all regulations such as OSHA , EPA , State Health Department, etc. Other: Performs other duties as assigned deemed necessary to meet the needs of Marshall University including performance of work in support of other shops/trades.
