1939

Founded in 1939 as Martin County Hospital, a portion of the original structure is included in the current facility which features 244 beds.

1939 The 23-bed Martin County Hospital opens in Stuart.

1942

1942 The Martin Memorial Auxiliary, originally called the Women’s Auxiliary, was established to recruit and train volunteers for the hospital.

1979

1979 The hospital expands to 252 beds.

1983

1983 The Martin Memorial Foundation is established.

1983 Martin Memorial expands into St Lucie County opening an urgent care facility on Port St Lucie Boulevard.

1992

1992 Martin Memorial Hospital South opens its doors on Salerno Road in Stuart.

1999

1999 The Martin Memorial Cancer Center, now the Robert and Carol Weissman Cancer Center, opens.

2006

2006 The Frances Langford Heart Center opens its doors bringing open-heart surgery and interventional cardiology to Martin County.

2013

2013 HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital at Martin Health opens on the Salerno Road campus in Stuart.

2019

2019 Martin Health System becomes part of Cleveland Clinic, a health system that is consistently ranked among the nation's best.

2020

Phase two is expected to be completed in Fall, 2020 and will double the size of the transformed emergency department.
