The Pug Mill/Loader Operator position involves operating a variety heavy equipment as well as performing semi-skilled duties around the production facilities. These duties include operating equipment, using various tools, lubricating machinery, shovel spillage areas, monitor the plant conveyors, shakers, crushers, feeders, and pumps, and inspect plant daily.
This position will be required to float among 9 Recycle Yards in the Houston, TX area
ESSENTIAL RESPONIBILITIES
* Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment
* Fully operate front end loader and pug mill
* Utilizing a chipping hammer
* Operate equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with training and manufacturer's instruction
* Adhere to MSHA/OSHA and plant safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations
* Perform pre-shift safety inspection on the systems, equipment and accessories
* Perform preventative maintenance and service equipment
* Inspect equipment and report needed repairs to supervision
* Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
* Responsible for good housekeeping of plant and equipment
* Perform duties with minimum supervision
* Assist with operation of other equipment as needed
* All other duties as assigned
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
* 1+ year of experience in plant/aggregate/earth-material operation
* Industrial Plant experience a plus
* Experience operating heavy equipment
* Experience with a variety of hand tools
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, possible weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed
* Must be able to read equipment operating manual
* Must be able to complete pre-shift inspection report
* Must be able to read and interpret gauges
* Possess basic mathematical aptitude to complete daily reports
* Must be able to wear all required safety equipment
* Must be able to communicate over CB radio or with hand signals and warning sounds, with coworkers regarding movement of vehicles and mobile equipment
* Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner
* Must be service oriented with proven ability to work in a TEAM environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and hearing protection
* Must be able to work at various heights
* Must be able to climb stairs to a height of 100 ft. and work at this height
* Must be able to climb on and off equipment to operate and service
* Must be able to bend, stoop, climb and reach around all areas of equipment
* Capable of lifting and carrying up to 45 lbs
* Must be able to walk across steep/rough terrain
* Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.

Responsibilities
* Research, identify and analyze new jobs to bid, determining bonding licensing and permitting requirements and identifying risks and opportunities specific to each potential new job.

* Perform accurate full project take-offs and determine applicable project schedules and scopes

What You'll Do:

Oversee Projects. Conduct analysis of customer and job specifications. Assist in new product development. Oversee special, high visibility, or large projects.

Review material quality test results for conformance (per ASTM, AASHTO and appropriate DOT procedures) in order to meet Vulcan's standards for quality products. Communicate test results to supervisors, plant personnel, and plant site QC. Ensure proper documentation of results in the QC database.
Prepare Reports. Prepare submittals for the various products. Prepare statistical summary quality reports on VMC Aggregate products.
Troubleshoot. Perform troubleshooting of field and jobsite problems. Visually inspect material sources, stockpiles, and truck loads at Aggregate plants. Troubleshoot problem jobs and specifications.
Champion Continuous Improvement. Stay abreast of professional and technical developments in order to maintain and improve the skills and knowledge needed for superior job performance and to help improve operational efficiency.

Skills You'll Need:
Education. Must have your high school diploma or its equivalent. Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience. Five years of construction materials testing experience in construction materials to include aggregates, asphalt, and ready mix concrete is preferred. Must possess superior working knowledge in at least one product line and have skill in all product lines.
Testing Knowledge. Individual must be skilled in basic ASTM, AASHTO, and ADOT testing procedures applicable to our complete product line. Must be knowledgeable in product related specifications and finished products.

Job Summary:
The Rail Utility Operator/ Laborer will perform cross-functional duties in plant maintenance, production, and equipment operation. Duties include greasing and lubricating plant equipment, maintaining plant housekeeping, operating equipment and performing routine maintenance on plant and equipment.
Essential responsibilities
* Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner.
* Safety unloading and stockpiling of aggregate materials from railcars.
* Assist in plant operations including production, quality control, loading and shipping.
* Assist with preventative and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment.

* Exposure to cement, clay, limestone, shale, and other raw materials and various chemicals, solvents and lubricants.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Larger equipment is typically air-conditioned. There will be times when outside assignments may require periods of work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dB.

What You'll Do:

Job Summary
The Senior Coordinator, Inventory Management analyzes existing inventory and resolves inbound and outbound discrepancies in order to drive operational efficiency. Responsibilities
* Upon receipt of inbound products from manufacturers, checks packing slips to ensure that the quantity of product matches the slips and the order placed. Enters and validates product data in the warehouse management system (WMS) and releases product for use in the facility.
* Develops forecasts of inventory based on customer demand, orders, and shipment speeds of various products and suppliers.
* Places electronic orders based on inventory reporting and forecasting. Communicates with suppliers as necessary to provide additional order information.
* Continually monitors inventory levels and runs reports from WMS (warehouse management system) to analyze slow-moving products, fast-moving products, and expiration date data.
* Evaluates quantity discrepancies and quality issues, such as damaged products, in inbound shipments and enters issues into WMS (warehouse management system). Contacts suppliers to identify and resolve the issue and, as necessary, escalates issues to a supervisor.
* Conducts regular cycle counts and physical inventories based on lists and instruction provided by Supervisor or Lead Coordinator, including collecting and validating the count data.
