Main responsibility is to move material within the plant, accurately reporting on any issues and filling safety forms. This position is a NIGHT shift position. Typical schedules are 6:00pm - 6:00am; however, schedules are subject to change, depending on business needs. Essential Responsibilities * Operate equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with training and manufacturer's instruction. * Perform pre-shift safety inspection on the vehicle systems, equipment and accessories. * Perform preventative maintenance and service mobile equipment. * Report needed repairs to supervision. * Ensure cargo is properly loaded according to safety requirements. * Responsible for good housekeeping of equipment. * Assist in plant maintenance and repairs, * Assist with operation of other equipment as needed. * Adhere to MSHA/OSHA and plant safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations. * Perform duties with minimum supervision. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience * Working knowledge of heavy construction equipment * 1 year of related experience; previous heavy equipment experience a plus * Experience with a variety of hand tools KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, possible weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed. * Must be able to read equipment operating manual. * Must be able to complete pre-shift inspection report. * Must be able to communicate over CB radio or with hand signals and warning sounds, with coworkers regarding movement of vehicles and mobile equipment. * Possess basic mathematical aptitude to complete daily reports. * Must be able to wear all required safety equipment. * Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner. * Must be able to read and interpret gauges. * Must be service oriented with proven ability to work in a TEAM environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Must have good hand/eye coordination and be able to operate hand/foot controls * Possess good vision to perceive depth at close range and distances up to 150 feet * Must be able to climb on and off equipment to operate and service * Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel in limited space in cab of vehicle * Must be able to sit and operate equipment for long periods up to 10+ hours per day * Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs * Must work outside in all weather conditions consistent with extreme ambient temperatures: heat, cold, wetness, dryness, dust, and noisy conditions * Must be able to work at various heights WORKING CONDITIONS Larger equipment is typically air conditioned. There will be times when outside assignments may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs. What You'll Do: Execute Pricing Strategies. Lead the execution and understanding of competition and pricing in the market by facilitating the gathering and benchmarking of data in coordination with strategy, sales, marketing leadership and adapt pricing for construction aggregates accordingly. Manage Quoting Process. Manage the entire bid/quoting process for basic jobs, including identification of upcoming bids, distribution of pricing information to customers and sales reps, and communication of final bid results. Manage the quote follow-up process, including identifying and logging new quotes and leading quote follow-up review meetings with sales reps. Manage Billing Process. Manage timely and accurate billing exception and re-billing process for customers, ensuring the collection of receivables of all outstanding billing issues. Gather Market Intelligence. Monitor new trends in pricing strategy and manage market intelligence based on information to ensure maximum market penetration through constant review and evaluation of changing customer and market needs. Become thoroughly familiar with the day's business demands by reviewing schedule and individual customer orders and the beginning of and continuously during shifts. Direct Loading and Delivery. Direct Plant Operators, Loader Operators, Drivers, or Batch Plant Operators regarding which material to load on trucks. Direct Drivers regarding which customer job site to receive delivery. Follow Loading Procedures. Weigh Company and non-company trucks on truck scale before and after being loaded with aggregate products. Write or print delivery tickets for all loads of material leaving the yard. Report Issues. Immediately report any delivery problems to service or sales representatives for quick resolution or mitigation. Receive Customer Orders. Receive customer orders, mostly by telephone, but also from drivers on Company radio, service or sales representatives over radio or in person, and occasionally by customers in person. Assist customers in identifying proper products needed for specific end uses. Advise customers on Company order confirmation and delivery policies. Record customer orders on order form and in schedule book as received. Determine Schedules. Tactfully balance cost effective delivery times and rates for Company with customer demands. Make schedule for drivers for next business day in correspondence with customer order requirements. Complete Daily Reports. Ideal candidates will have: * Educational Foundation: Active pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic/Manufacturing Engineering, Mining/Materials Science Engineering or related field with at least junior year standing. * Academic Performance: A GPA of 2.5 or above, with a preference for those with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. * Leadership Potential: Demonstrated leadership qualities and a proactive approach to problem-solving. * Communication Skills: Strong analytical and communication abilities, with the capability to present ideas clearly and effectively. * Technical Proficiency: Candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience in the heavy or manufacturing industry are preferred.
