Move material weighing approximately 50# 20 feet onto the machine which is 3 feet high. Using proper methods, form, punch, cope or saw material as necessary. * Move door or leaf onto table. Use pressure table to properly position clips, or hold part in position by hand. Weld part to secure it, making sure that it is straight and correctly placed, using standard welding practice. Move completed component to designated space. Move door parts weighing approximately 60# five feet to the table, then four feet to material storage area. * Hang and pack move basement door parts from storage area, then lift them onto the hangers of the conveyer going into the paint booth, keeping up with the speed of the conveyer. Remove basement doors parts from the paint booth hangers and move them to the packing area, keeping up with the speed of the conveyer. Properly align parts in the wrapper, pick up and insert spacers, attach band to the package, and move finished package onto a pallet. Move basement door parts weighing up to 60# approximately four feet, and lift them 3 feet high to attach them to the paint booth conveyer. Lift these same parts off of the conveyer and move them 10 fee to the packing area, then move completed package weighing 200#, three feet to a pallet. * Actively participate in "5S" procedures as well as all Continuous Improvement efforts * Perform any and all other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager. * Follow all safety rules and regulations. Wear all proper PPE as assigned or warranted in the work area. * Ability to meet productivity and quality control standards for the position. Your Credentials: * Any combination equivalent to High School diploma or equivalent. * Prior production experience preferred. * Knowledge of math, with the ability to add and subtract whole numbers. * Use of fixed gauges, direct reading instruments and similar devices; where interpretation is not required. * Ability to operate MIG welding gun, banding machine, crane and saw. * Ability to use measuring tape, square, hammer, chisel, wire cutters, ruler, staple gun and other power and hand tools. The purpose of the Tufting Creeler is to ensure yarn is supplied to tufting machines from creels or beams to produce first quality carpet. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Creel yarn packages on all creel feed machines following direction of leadership Splice or tie in yarn packages or beam sets in a safe and timely manner. Run Bitwinder as needed if applicable. Run knots through after beam change and verify machine thread-up if applicable. Pull yarn off of beams and remove beam weights at the end of each shop order if applicable. Verify beam placement in beam rack if applicable. Use beam splicer to creel a new beam set after beam change if applicable. Verify splices and knots for durability. Remove empty tubes from the creel and place them in designated area. Remove from the creel packages of old lots and place them as designated by leadership in boxes or prepare them for pack-out. Help tufting machine operators with backing changes. Relieve tufting machine operators as necessary. Fix pull tights and ends out in the creel and potentially blow yarn back to machine through creel tube using air nozzle. Check all beamed and creeled yarn for proper lot number and color number. Apply beam weights after beam change if applicable. Assist in keeping work area in a clean and orderly manner. Performance Expectations (if applicable): Standing is required 80% of time for 30 to 45 minutes per time. Pulling of yarn from beams is required 20% of shift if applicable. Reaching is required for yarn 50 to 60% of shift. Stooping is required 10% of shift for 30-second intervals. Bending is required to creel 10 to 20% of time, and lifting cones 30% of time. Must be able to use air splicer 30% of shift. Must be able to use snips and/or scissors 5% of shift. Must be able to distinguish colors and shade differences. Lifting is required of cones of yarn weighing 10 to 12 lbs throughout shift. Occasionally required to climb, balance, and kneel. Experience/Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to read, write and do basic addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. Computer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job but will train. Other Requirements: Overtime is required on occasion. All accidents must be reported immediately. Perform any other duties as assigned. Safety equipment must be worn as required. Report to management any quality, safety, or potential problems encountered while performing the job. The purpose of the Heatset Creeler is to secure & replenish the Heatset machine with yarn packages for heat setting. Patrol and monitor the running of the machine. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Follow all Safety, Plant & Quality Guidelines Secure packages of yarn and load them onto the Heatset creel. Check every yarn tube before placing it on the creel, verifying that it is identified precisely as described on the spec sheet. Verify that each tube of yarn is of the quality specified on the spec sheet. Put a tube cap on each as soon as it is in position when required on the spec sheet. Air Splice the package lead end to the tail of the running end package. Periodically check the thread path. If it is crossed, stop the machine and correct it immediately. Check for slubs and/or chokes in tensioners. Tension is a crucial factor in run ability. The tensioners must be kept clean. Clean your assignment and work area each shift. Performance Expectations (if applicable): Follow printed & spoken instructions & specifications effectively. Able to stand for long periods. Hand dexterity sufficient to handle packages and operate splicer or tie weavers knots as specified. Able to lift & place numerous 12-20 lb. packages per shift. Experience/Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Read & write instructions effectively. Effective communication skills. Other Requirements: Overtime is required on occasion. Perform any other duties as assigned. All accidents must be reported immediately.
