Position Overview: We're seeking a Preconstruction Coordinator to join our Columbia, SC team. This role supports the preconstruction team in administrative and coordination efforts, ensuring smooth and efficient operations during the early phases of construction projects. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with coordinating plans and specifications for the preconstruction team, subcontractors, and vendors. • Review preconstruction requirements, including project insurance, bonding, and licensing. • Obtain insurance quotes from providers for bids, including bid bond requests when necessary. • Prepare bid documents in line with project specifications. • Collaborate with Operations and Marketing on SWMBE (Small, Women, and Minority Business Enterprises) advertisements and outreach efforts to ensure minority participation in bids. • Respond to all bid invitations via a web-based system, maintain an updated subcontractor database, and assist with solicitations and follow-up calls. • Attend turnover meetings and pre-bid meetings, transcribe and edit meeting notes, and manage the Preconstruction Manager's communications and calendar. • Maintain organized, easily retrievable files for previously completed estimates and preconstruction projects. • Provide timely, efficient word-processing support, including composing, editing, and handling confidential documents. • Deliver general administrative support to the preconstruction team and assist as needed with front desk reception duties. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and projects.
