Religious based company and everyone is treated like family and not a number. If anyone is in need, help is on the way.
Sometimes communication between management and the field is lacking.
Able to do my job without someone always looking over my shoulder. I have a great boss.
They look at every employee as a family member and there is always an open-door policy to all.
Hold people accountable for their actions. We are lacking in this area.
I was referred by a friend and was called to come in for a interview. I meet with the owners and was offered the job.
It is on par with the other contractors in the same business in our area.
Very good
The people I'm blessed to work with. This is the only company i have worked for that truly cares about the employees and will do anything they can to help when needed.
I think the pros of working at Mason Construction is the smaller company size creating a more intimate family atmosphere and excellent work environment. Once you are hired here and perform your tasks to the best of your ability, they treat you like part of their family.
In my experience the cons of working for the Mason family has not existed. Being here for 9 years cons at work have not existed. It has been the best job utilizing my engineering profession I have had the pleasure of obtaining in my career. The cons are so small they are not worth mentioning.
My favorite perk working for the Mason family is any problem that arises I can always speak directly to an owner of the company with an open-door policy.
The leaders of Mason have spent time performing even the lowest task at this company, this gives them a very high level of character and goes far with all personnel that work here at Mason.
I prepared by learning the history of the company and knowing what the company does for its customers.
Entertain a portion of the company being employee owned.
My compensation is in-line with the market for my position.
Mason is a very diverse company having also a women owned portion of the company. Diversity is a big part of the success with our field personnel.
The people and clients I work with, the team at Mason is one of the best at solving problem given to them by clients in the construction industry.
The pros for working at Mason Construction are that it is a family-owned business that cares for its employees. The owner's door is always open and he is willing to help with any issues that are important to the company and your family.
I feel like the only con as with most civil contractors, we are on the low end of the pay scale. Being is safety, there is a large commitment to working safe and everyone going home safe each day.
They do help even things out with a yearly profit-sharing bonus.
I think most of the leadership team and the CEO want to see everyone succeed and better themselves.
Hold all employees accountable for their actions.
I interviewed on the spur of the moment, so I just presented myself and my credentials and let them know I was dedicated to helping the company grow.
I feel like being in the industrial area that we are that pay could be higher.
We have a very diverse group of people. Everyone helps each other out to get to the end product which is safety and production.
I enjoy Mason because I have grown with the employees and feel like any one-off them will come to me with any type of question whether work or personal and know that i am truly there to help them. It's nice to have some of them call you after hours just to check on your well-being.
Everyone in the company is great to work with, they actually care about their employees and helping employees be successful. Great mentors within the company, many employees have been with the company for many years and are always willing to teach the younger generation coming into the industry.
Working at Mason Construction for many years thinking of a "con" is difficult. Wages are always a topic in the construction industry, and they are not as high as other nationally recognized construction companies. Mason Construction rarely lays-off personnel and does everything they can to keep personnel working.
Ownership is very involved in employee development, they are always willing to listen to employees and help them out in any way they can.
There are not many companies that you can call or sit down with ownerships and have a one on one conversation with.
Culture has changed throughout the years at Mason and they are always looking at new innovative ways to improve the company.
Compensation with Mason has been about average
The diversity within Mason Construction has always been great, everyone in the company get along great.
What brings me the most joy going to work at Mason Construction is dealing with everyone at Mason, weather it is personnel in the field or personnel on the administrative side, everyone is there to help.
Working for Mason Construction is more of a family atmosphere, a smaller company where the Owners know everyone by name, has genuine concern for each employee and their families. A CEO that has an open door and willing to set and pray with you should you need that support.
I think if there is a draw back from work for Mason Construction it is because it is a small company, and the Owners truly care too much for their employees and at times makes for a difficult decision when time for discipline in needed.
Freedom and flexibility with work and family time.
The culture at Mason Construction is constantly changing toward the positive side. A culture is not something that a company can just decide to have or put a procedure or policy in place and proclaim a culture. A culture has to be growing over many years and passed on to the next generation that would be protecting the past behaviors and continue to build upon that. Cultures can be negative as well as positive, to have a growing positive culture it takes every employee from top to bottom work diligently daily nurturing the past positive behaviors. To say that I or any one person can improve the company culture would be a mistake, one person cannot alone improve the culture. One person can certainly damage a company's culture if left unchecked by others, and the fact that others keep the negative person in check states Mason Constructions culture in itself.
I prepared for an interview at Mason Construction by my previous experiences.
In my experience at Mason Construction the pay scale in comparable to most companies while it may not be at the higher end of the scale at others. I am able to live comfortably, provide for my family and community. the support from Mason Construction and it's Owners is not just financial support but moral and spiritual and that is priceless.
The representation of diverse demographics at Mason Construction is not an issue, the respect for each person is the same and is expected thus being driven by the ever-growing culture at Mason Construction.
The most fulfilling aspect of my job at Mason construction is watching men and women grow not only in their professional capacity but in their personal lives as well. I truly enjoy empowering folks and know that I can be a part of making a difference in live for the future.
