ROLE SUMMARY: Maximize the output of high-Quality product in a safe and efficient manor from whatever machines the Mechanic is assigned, to improve the operation whenever possible, and achieve established production requirements. Maximize machine availability by performing proactive inspection, predictive and preventative maintenance. Maintain and improve upon established Quality, Maintenance and Production standards. Comply with all Plant rules and regulations. MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Basic Arithmetic skills in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals without a calculator, practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, logarithms, practical algebra, geometric constructions, and essentials of trigonometry. 5-7 years' experience related to this position in high speed manufacturing such as in the pharmaceutical, consumer products, food and/or medical device industry. Must be shift flexible to work various hours and shifts as needed, especially during large projects, installations, etc. PREFERED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Technical degree/accreditation preferred. Journeyman's card in a specialized trade is a plus. Prefer knowledge & ability to use machine shop equipment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must be able to follow instructions and exercise good judgment. Be able to use Fork trucks, electrical and/or hand trucks and all equipment safely. Must have mechanical aptitude and understand machinery operation. Must be able to use tools. Granules Consumer Health (GCH) is Granules' front-end products division for private label over the counter (OTC) products in the US products. GCH was established in 2014, to offer OTC generics that meet the highest level of quality at an affordable cost that is much more affordable than brand name product. The Packaging Mechanic is responsible for set ups and maintenance tasks on assigned production lines to ensure its smooth operation. The Packaging Mechanic must be knowledgeable about each individual component of a bottle packaging line, understand the correct set up and connection between components, and complete a set up/changeover within the expected time. The individual must be capable of operating multiple machines at one time and performing maintenance on a variety of equipment within the bottle line packaging area. Machines could include bottle unscrambler, electronic tablet counter, slat filler, capper, cap induction sealer, labeler, neck/body bander, heat shrink tunnel, pack off table, accumulation table, cartoner, QR code printers, Tray/Case Forming, Case Packer, Case Taper, and dust collectors. Responsibilities include but not limited: Perform moderate to complex adjustments, maintenance, and repairs to packaging and pneumatic equipment. Job Description What a day looks like Your shift kicks off with a walkthrough of the line, checking logs and reacting to any basic system alarms that popped overnight.
