Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Review the hospital census or utilize established referral method to identify self-pay patients consistently throughout the day. Screen those patients that are referred to Firstsource for State, County and/or Federal eligibility assistance programs. Initiate the application process bedside when possible. Identifies specific patient needs and assist them with an enrollment application to the appropriate agency for assistance. Introduces the patients to Firstsource services and informs them that we will be contacting them on a regular basis about their progress. Provides transition, as applicable, for the backend Patient Advocate Specialist to develop a positive relationship with the patient. Records all patient information on the designated in-house screening sheet. Document the results of the screening in the onsite tracking tool and hospital computer system. Identifies out-patient/ER accounts from the census or applicable referral method that are designated as self-pay. Reviews system for available information for each outpatient account identified as self-pay. Face to face screen patients on site as able. Attempts to reach patient by telephone if unable to screen face to face. Document out-patient/ER accounts when accepted in the hospital system and on-site tracking tool. Outside field work as required to include Patient home visits to screen for eligibility of State, County, and Federal programs. Other Duties as assigned or required by client contract Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain a positive working relationship with the hospital staff of all levels and departments. Report any important occurrences to management as soon as possible (dramatic change in the number or type of referrals, etc.) Access information for the Patient Advocate Specialist as needed (discharge dates, balances, itemized statements, medical records, etc.). Keep an accurate log of accounts referred each day. Meet specified goals and objectives as assigned by management on a regular basis. Maintain confidentiality of account information at all times. Reporting to the Environmental Lead, this role is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the facility's wastewater lagoons and treatment systems, and aids with other environmental compliance programs, including air quality, spill prevention, stormwater management, and waste disposal. This position requires at least a Nebraska Class I Wastewater Operator Certification , with all required continuous education costs to maintain licensing sponsored by Western Sugar. Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain the wastewater treatment system, including UV disinfection and odor control systems. Conduct routine field sampling and monitoring of wastewater. Perform in-house laboratory bench testing for wastewater parameters. Operate and maintain other mechanical resources/tools needed to support environmental compliance programs other than wastewater, including, but not limited to, street sweepers, forklifts, sprinkler systems, air cannons, and aeration systems. Conduct visible emissions observations (EPA Method 9) and assist in the implementation of the site's fugitive dust plan. Assist with housekeeping of outside areas, including routine inspection, labeling, and reorganizing of containers of chemicals, oils, and greases. When directed, assist in the proper handling and disposal of various waste streams, including, but not limited to, unused chemicals, oils, and greases; scrap metal; discarded parts and equipment; empty totes and drums; etc. Serves as laboratory backup for tank readings as needed. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures. Maintain complete and accurate records, including QA/QC documentation, for all monitoring activities. Maintain job-specific certifications and participate in ongoing training as required. Qualifications: Nebraska Class I Wastewater Operator Certification Able to climb stairs, ladders, and lift 50 lbs in compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards. Mechanically inclined with basic maintenance skills. Prior lab experience preferred. Prior forklift experience and certification preferred. Nebraska Pesticide Applicator License preferred. Self-motivated, safety-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities.
