MCLA is seeking a Staff Assistant/Laboratory Instructor (10-month position) to prepare for, and assist with, teaching laboratory sections in support of the physics department. The Staff Assistant/Laboratory Instructor will also assist with overseeing student-driven undergraduate research projects, as needed.
General statement of duties:
* Coordinate and assist with teaching laboratory sections as directed and needed.
* Oversee laboratory and demonstration needs, ensuring adequate supplies, materials, and equipment.
* Coordinate laboratory preparation and implementation.
* Ensure all laboratories are prepared in advance and necessary equipment is procured on time.
* Support undergraduate research as needed.
* Possibility to teach additional courses, depending on the candidate's credentials and departmental needs.
* Other duties as needed and requested.
Requirements:
* Master's degree in physics or a related field required.
* At least two years of laboratory and/or teaching experience; candidates with less experience will be considered if they demonstrate strong potential to excel in the role.
* Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
* Computer proficiency required.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, 10-month position (paid over 12 months) in the APA bargaining unit. Salary range is $50,000.00 - $60,000.

Grant Funder: CommCorp Career Technical Initiative
Salem High School is the recipient of the Career Technical Initiative grant from Commonwealth Corporation on behalf of the Baker Administration to increase a skilled workforce in the trades through third shift programs.
This initiative, announced by Governor Baker, seeks to address the persistent need for skilled labor in construction, trades, and manufacturing. Salem High School is seeking an Administrative Clerk to support the startup and implementation of an adult night school program beginning this summer. In this role, you will work in a collaborative team environment to support the success of our adult learners in Salem Public School's new third-shift program as part of the Salem High School Career and Technical Education department. This role will work during the program training hours to support the CTI Administrative team and CTE Director, processing documentation and student communication, and other duties as assigned.
Role Responsibilities:

The Office of Military & Veteran Services, located in Thompson Hall, is looking for a motivated student to join our team through the Federal Work-Study program. This role is focused on helping build community by creating events and opportunities that connect military-connected students (veterans, Guard/Reserve, dependents) with non-military students across campus.
You'll play a key role in planning events, promoting programs, and fostering collaboration that makes Fitchburg State more inclusive and engaging for all students to include:
* Assisting with planning and running campus events that bring students together (examples include Veterans Day and Memorial Day ceremonies, service projects, guest speakers, social mixers, wellness activities, and gaming or gardening events).
* Helping design and share flyers, emails, and social media posts to spread the word about events.
* Providing support during events (setup, check-in, greeting attendees, breakdown.
* Working in the Veteran Lounge to welcome students, answer questions, and connect them to resources.
* Building relationships with both military-connected students and the broader student body.
* Keeping the lounge and event spaces organized and welcoming.
Requirements:
* Must have Federal Work-Study eligibility.
* Strong communication and people skills.
* Creativity and interest in event planning or marketing.
* Reliable, professional, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
* An interest in supporting veterans and building community on campus (personal military connection not required).
Additional Information:
This is a part-time, non-benefited, student only position.
Shifts vary to include occasional nights and weekends. Students will be expected to work a minimum of 8 hours per week but no more than 20 hours per week at an hourly rate of $15.00.
