Provides appropriate and hospitable service to customers. Maintains sanitation of cafeteria. Performs warewashing duties. Assists in training of other food service workers. I. Major Responsibilities: 1. Prepares area for food serving. Sets up steam tables and service areas with hot food items, salads, desserts, fruits, breakfast foods, etc. Prepares and portions salads and desserts. Slices meats and prepares deli items i.e. sandwiches, mixed salads, cheese, etc. Replenishes food items as necessary. Makes coffee. Participates in cafeteria special events. 2. Serves food in prescribed quantities according to food service standards. 3. Takes temperatures before and during meal service. 4. Informs production if a menu item is running low. 5. Stocks cold supply before, during and after each meal service. II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: 1. Equivalent to completion of two years high school. Experience/Skills: Required: 1. Requires the ability to carry out instructions and procedures that are standardized. 2. Ability to read, write and speak English. 3. Understands basic weights and measures. 4. Understands basic mathematical functions. 5. Ability to stoop and lift 30 pounds and push and pull 300 pounds. 6.
