    **One Time Sign on Bonus of $8,500.00** Schedule: 6am-2:30pm The SPD/OR Liaison will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing daily clinical and administrative operations for their designated specialty surgical service. They may assist in developing, recommending, and implementing internal standards, policies, and procedures to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care and sterile processing. Liaisons will participate in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees, and special projects. Key Responsibilities: Supports Operating Room (OR) staff by verifying instrument kits are ready before surgery start times. Attends daily meetings with OR Specialty Coordinators to forecast instrument needs up to five days in advance. Monitors daily surgical case flow and communicates emergent or additional instrument needs to SPD, resolving issues as needed. Conducts daily audits of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including case cart and kit audits, room visits, and post-case reviews. Analyzes KPI data to identify trends and operational issues in the OR and Sterile Processing Department (SPD). Coordinates communication and planning for priority instruments and turnaround times, informing the surgical team of any delays. Responds promptly to surgical team calls regarding instrumentation problems or urgent needs. Cleans and processes equipment per manufacturer's instructions and safety protocols. Ensures instrumentation is processed and available for next-day, on-call, or weekend surgeries. Assists with documentation, kit updates, pick-list revisions, and maintaining accurate instrument count sheets with coordinators and physicians. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma/GED required Associate's Degree Preferred Required Area of Study in Sterile Processing Preferred Area of Study in Sterile Processing and Surgical Technology Experience: 3 years of SPD experience required 5 years of SPD experience preferred Licensure/ Certifications: SPD Tech certification through a nationally recognized accreditation association required. SPD Leadership, Instrument Tech, and Endoscopy certification through a nationally recognized accreditation association preferred. The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors. The CHW will be responsible for providing telehealth coaching for a brief online PTSD treatment program, called web-administered Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (web STAIR). WebSTAIR educates patients about trauma and related mental health symptoms, and teaches patients skills to manage their emotions and improve relationships. The web STAIR program will be provided in English and Spanish. The CHW will receive training in motivational interviewing, cognitive and behavioral techniques, and approaches to enhance engagement in treatment programs. CHWs will receive receive ongoing case consultation on coaching visits from Dr. Marylene Cloitre, the psychologist who developed web STAIR and a leading expert in the field. CHWs will also receive professional development support from a CHW supervisor/expert outside of the study which will provide an opportunity for the CHW to reflect on their experience with providing trauma focused mental health supports and connect with other CHWs. This is a hybrid position. The CHW will mostly work remotely but may occasionally work on-site to assist with in-person research activities and coordination. Generally the work schedule will be Monday through Friday though some evenings and weekends may be required depending on specific patient needs. The CHAMPION program consists of individual and group visits guided by a set curriculum with a multi-disciplinary team (medical provider, dietitian, and community health worker), and other tools to support behavioral change and reduce body mass index (BMI) and asthma, such as follow-up phone calls, educational materials, social determinants of health screening and referral and text messaging. The CHAMPION CHW will provide care to children and adolescents with overweight/obesity and asthma, through group and individual visits, both in-person and virtually, and will participate in a Virtual Learning Community and Quality Improvement calls and activities as part of the research project. The CHAMPION CHW will support this program at the MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center and MGH Revere HealthCare Center. Hours are expected to be roughly 10am-6:30pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays based on clinical schedules, and Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:30am-5pm. The CHAMPION CHW will engage patients and their families in setting their own short-term goals and will track the benchmarks along the way toward the achievement of these goals. In addition, the Asthma -Healthy Weight Lifestyle CHAMPION CHW will work with patients to help decrease barriers to timely follow-up care and provide coaching to engage patients and families in identification and achievement of care goals. This is not a clinical position, but the role is part of the clinical team and requires a good knowledge of (and willingness to learn) basic clinical concepts and an understanding of when a referral to a licensed clinician is appropriate. Systems Navigation and Care Coordination * Help address logistical barriers, scheduling challenges, childcare needs, etc., that would inhibit a patient from showing up at their appointment; help patients to develop plans to get to appointments. * Assist patients in organizing their records, making follow-up appointments, filling their prescriptions, and understanding past medical history. * Work with primary care providers to reinforce provider care plans and health education messages, the importance of follow-up care, medication adherence, routines of self-care, etc. * Provide advocacy, patient education, and support in accessing community-based and hospital-based programs. * Support timely scheduling, communication, and problem-solving across areas to ensure program excellence. * Refer to internal or external case management services within the practice when other issues are identified (i.e., food insecurity, domestic violence issues, etc.) Collaboration and Documentation * Document each patient encounter in detail. Track benchmarks of progress in care, including short-term goal completion. * Maintain regular communication with the patient's providers (through clinical messages in EPIC, emails, phone calls, case review meetings, etc.) * Support practice staff to develop creative processes to proactively manage patients with asthma and/or obesity in a non-stigmatizing manner; help practice staff to develop patient-centered care goals. * Collaborate and communicate with interdisciplinary primary care team to identify care plan goals. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: * Functions a key member of an inter-disciplinary team (social workers, and physicians) providing clinical services to children who are at risk for and who have experienced abuse or neglect. * Serves as a point of contact for pediatric ambulatory patients entering the custody of the Department of Children and Families and ensure valid court paperwork is obtained, demographic and insurance information is accurate, and work to expedite appointment scheduling of DCF 7-Day (Screening) and DCF 30-Day (Comprehensive) visits with the multidisciplinary care team. * Triage referral work queues for Child Protection Team by reviewing medical charts and discussing referrals with clinicians (MD & SW). * Verify and updates patient demographic and insurance information and ensures that legal paperwork documenting custody is on file when scheduling any visits * Ensure thorough and high-quality referrals are received and timely scheduling of appointments by identifying additional paperwork needed and recommending additional/alternative referrals/services for families if they are not clinically appropriate for Child Protection Team. * Conducting initial calls with caregivers and outline details of what will happen when seen by the Child Protection Team to prepare families for their appointment. * Proactively contacts patients' families for whom DCF has requested a medical update and who are identified to be behind on care and/or have open referrals.
