Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to lead computational efforts focused on AI-accelerated drug discovery and delivery for neurological diseases. The ideal candidate will develop and apply cutting-edge machine learning methods to integrate multimodal and multiomics datasets, identify therapeutic targets/drugs, and design novel compounds, and leverage our unique in vitro models and in vivo nanotechnology tools. This role will involve driving high-impact, interdisciplinary research at the intersection of AI, single-cell omics, and translational neuroscience, with access to state-of-the-art resources and close collaboration with experimental teams generating novel datasets. Join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team as we develop new strategies to tackle neurodegeneration, together with the incredible collaborators and resources of the MGB/HMS/Broad/MIT ecosystem and partner biopharmaceutical companies.
Responsibilities:
• Integrate multimodal data and develop and train AI foundation models on large-scale biological datasets for predictive modeling of cellular responses, target identification, and drug candidate identification.
• Apply generative and sequence-based ML models to design, model, and optimize binding peptides.
• Analyze high throughput screens and biological datasets to inform in silico predictions.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field (recently completed or near completion).
Strong publication record demonstrating expertise in ML applied to biology.
Expertise in Python; experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow); single-cell genomics analysis (Seurat, Scanpy, sc VI, etc.); and perturbation modeling (e.g., GEARS, sc Gen).
Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced research environment.
Interest in translational impact.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with biological foundation models (e.g., sc GPT, Geneformer, sc BERT); generative AI for sequences/proteins/peptides (e.g., RFdiffusion variants); cheminformatics tools (e.g., RDKit, PubChem querying); active learning/uncertainty quantification; pipeline automation (e.g., custom scripts or Airflow); integration of public resources (e.g., OpenTargets, ChEMBL); or basic computational ADMET/pharmacokinetics assessment.
Background in neurodegenerative disease.
Wet lab skills in molecular and cellular biology, nanotechnology, and pharmacology.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work collaboratively and in concert with a staff of dedicated scientists, animal/imaging technologists/associates, administrative personnel, and clinical counterparts to design and execute oncology related mouse studies using various imaging modalities (BLI/MRI/SPECT/PET/CT, etc) as well as the entire spectrum of conventional (e.g., caliper measurements, clinical scoring) endpoints to evaluate pre-clinical novel cancer therapies. The Pre-Clinical Scientist will work closely with the Director to execute the vision and strategic direction of translational cancer research. The Pre-Clinical Scientist will partner with clinical affiliates to facilitate bidirectional translational cancer science. The Pre-Clinical Scientist will work closely with other Centers and Departments at Dana-Farber that are engaged in research on small animal modeling in cancer and in experimental therapeutics. The Scientist will be expected to develop research projects for presentation at national meetings and publication in peer-reviewed journals. A computationally-oriented team led by Rameen Beroukhim and Simona Dalin at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Broad Institute seeks an associate computational biologist to join in efforts to develop and apply cutting-edge genomic algorithms and analyses to characterize genomic rearrangements in cancers and normal tissues, and better understand how errors in double strand break (DSB) repair result in these rearrangements.
This individual will contribute to a lively team and wider community of laboratory scientists, computational biologists, cancer geneticists, and software engineers dedicated to discovering and understanding the alterations in the cancer genome and discovering cancer vulnerabilities that could lead to new therapeutics.
We are looking for a person who wants to lead their projects, think independently and make original intellectual contributions. We welcome all levels of input from our ACBs, including input on the conduct of analyses but also on new analyses to conduct and new questions to ask. ACBs in our laboratory regularly present their own work and contribute to the writing of papers and grant applications.
We view an ACB as a mentored training position, with a primary goal being their professional development. Our prior ACBs have successfully pursued a variety of subsequent career directions including obtaining MDs, PhDs, and MD-PhDs on the paths to careers in both academia and industry.
The ideal candidate will have extensive programming ability and a strong background in mathematics and statistics with a deep interest and background in biology. The candidate is required to have a B.S./B.A. or equivalent, ideally in the life sciences, physical sciences, or computational sciences; prior research in one of these areas (for example, a summer research program or several hours a week in a lab as an undergraduate); a strong background in programming, preferably in R and BASH; knowledge of statistical methods either through coursework or research; and excellent written & verbal communication skills. A computationally-oriented team led by Rameen Beroukhim and Simona Dalin at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Broad Institute seeks an associate computational biologist to join in efforts to develop and apply cutting-edge genomic algorithms and analyses to characterize genomic rearrangements in cancers and normal tissues, and better understand how errors in double strand break (DSB) repair result in these rearrangements.
This individual will contribute to a lively team and wider community of laboratory scientists, computational biologists, cancer geneticists, and software engineers dedicated to discovering and understanding the alterations in the cancer genome and discovering cancer vulnerabilities that could lead to new therapeutics.
We are looking for a person who wants to lead their projects, think independently and make original intellectual contributions. We welcome all levels of input from our ACBs, including input on the conduct of analyses but also on new analyses to conduct and new questions to ask. ACBs in our laboratory regularly present their own work and contribute to the writing of papers and grant applications.
We view an ACB as a mentored training position, with a primary goal being their professional development. Our prior ACBs have successfully pursued a variety of subsequent career directions including obtaining MDs, PhDs, and MD-PhDs on the paths to careers in both academia and industry.
The ideal candidate will have extensive programming ability and a strong background in mathematics and statistics with a deep interest and background in biology. The candidate is required to have a B.S./B.A. or equivalent, ideally in the life sciences, physical sciences, or computational sciences; prior research in one of these areas (for example, a summer research program or several hours a week in a lab as an undergraduate); a strong background in programming, preferably in R and BASH; knowledge of statistical methods either through coursework or research; and excellent written & verbal communication skills. They must be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving, organizational and people skills and be able to collaborate closely with other members of a research team. We prefer the candidate to have exposure to an analytic field such as bioinformatics, computational biology, machine learning, or statistics and experience working in cloud computing and UNIX environments.
A minimum 2 year commitment is required. Ideally we are looking for someone to join our lab before March 2026 but we are also considering applicants who will complete their current degree program in Spring 2026.

The Neil and Elise Wallace STRATUS Center for Medical Simulation is committed to advancing medical education, patient safety, and healthcare outcomes through cutting-edge applications of medical simulation technologies supported by innovative curricula, contemporary educational methodologies, continuous improvement, and rigorous, multidisciplinary research.
At STRATUS, the Medical AI & Cognitive (MAICE) Lab, led by Dr. Roger Dias, MD, PhD, MBA, brings together a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, engineers, psychologists, computer scientists, and educators, including collaborations with several scientists and institutions, nationally and internationally. The core mission of our research lab involves the use of cutting-edge technologies to objectively measure and improve clinicians' performance, with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient safety and improving clinical outcomes. Our projects have been funded by NASA, NIH, DoD, and NSF, leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence to support high-performance clinical care in a variety of settings, including emergency medicine, critical care, surgery, space, and military medicine.
The Postdoctoral Fellowship in Medical AI is intended for graduates of doctoral programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with a solid foundation in applying advanced ML/AI techniques to tackle complex problems in healthcare. The program is ideal for early-career scientists seeking additional experience in the healthcare field, as well as opportunities to apply AI/ML technologies and software engineering to improve patient care and safety. The research fellow will be mentored by a multidisciplinary team of experts, allowing her/him to gain extensive knowledge and experience in diverse research areas including medicine, human factors, cognitive science, behavioral sciences, and aerospace and military research.
The successful candidate will conduct research and development within the emerging field of medical AI, applying advanced programming and software engineering skills. The research fellow will design and develop software architectures and train and evaluate ML/AI models to create AI-based solutions and integrate them with large multi-source clinical databases, including time-series physiological data, demographics, behavioral and psychological assessments, video, audio, electronic health records (EHR), and clinical performance outcomes. The fellow will also develop AI-based medical simulation applications and real-time clinical decision support systems.
Qualifications
Required:
All applicants must have a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline, with extensive knowledge, skills, and demonstrated experience in software development, AI/ML modeling and evaluations. These are the required qualifications:
