Job Summary
The Church Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of all areas within the church to ensure a welcoming and hygienic environment for daily worship and church events. Job Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including restocking supplies as needed (toilet paper, soap, paper towels).
Mop, sweep, and maintain all floors throughout the church, including entryways and hallways.
Clean and polish windows, window sills, and other glass surfaces to maintain a bright and clean appearance.
Drain, clean, and sanitize the Baptismal Font to ensure it is ready for use.
Maintain a routine cleaning schedule to ensure all interior spaces are consistently clean and welcoming.
Set up rooms for church services, events, and meetings as requested by the Facilities Director.
Ensure trash is emptied and disposed of properly throughout the building.
Assist with seasonal or deep cleaning tasks as directed.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facilities Director promptly.
Follow all safety and cleaning protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Job Requirements
Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The custodian performs general custodial duties in accordance with department procedures as well as: assists in event services support, summer cleaning and maintenance programs, furniture moves, and other departmental, program, and institutional support consistent with general nature of job duties. Custodial workers will act as independent entity in the maintenance and care of campus buildings as assigned while being a team member for group tasks as assigned. Custodial workers are expected to think and act proactively in the maintenance and care of their building(s). WORKING TIME:

Schedule:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Sweeping, mopping, dusting/washing furniture, vacuuming floors and surfaces and restocking restroom and kitchen areas.
Responsible for sanitizing bathroom surfaces, fixtures, and food handling areas.
Emptying trash and recycling receptacles and moving the trash and recyclables to the appropriate pick-up points.
