Position Summary and Purpose
This position plays an integral role in the recovery of denied reimbursement for hospital services rendered to a patient by providing a comprehensive review of a members' clinical information and comprising a verbal or written response depicting why the services were medically necessary. Team members will be responsible for the identification, mitigation, and prevention of clinical denials including medical necessity and authorization issues. Team members will manage complex patient accounts with precision and accuracy while analyzing medical records to formulate compelling clinical arguments. Essential Functions:
Prepare strong appeal letter(s) based on clinical documentation, evidence-based clinical guidelines, and knowledge using nationally accepted criteria, medical literature if applicable, healthcare statutes and payor requirements. Denial issues may include: post-discharge medical necessity, DRG validations, retroactive prior authorizations, Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) and other claim audits.

(b) Assign the principal diagnosis, pertinent secondary diagnoses, procedures for accurate MS-DRG assignment, score risk of mortality and severity of illness and initiate a review worksheet.

The Sr. Analyst HR Technology will review business requirements received from business stakeholders to document a functional design that can be transformed into a technical specification. This will include detailed analysis of the business requests, documentation of the user's requirements, and evaluating system recommendations. The role will base their recommendation on Oracle industry best practices and consider potential implications of the technology stack. The Sr. Analyst HR Technology will also assist with assessment, testing and preparation for the Oracle quarterly releases. This will include performing an impact analysis for new features or bug fixes that are presented in quarterly releases to understand the impact to the UCM Oracle Cloud environment. This position will require close collaboration with the HR Department and Oracle support team to develop and execute test scripts to evaluate the updates for a release.
A successful candidate will have the following characteristics:

Essential Job Functions
* Lead discussions with business stakeholders to understand business challenges and recommend process/application solutions. Provides ongoing maintenance and support for HRIS/HR applications.
* Configure and set up work structures (e.g. position codes, salary rates, grades, and organization hierarchy). Perform mass updates using HDL loads and familiar with other application setups such as value sets, lookups, payroll user tables and fast formulas.
* Resolve incidents, implement enhancements and other application solutions, set-up new Oracle features/functionality.
* Facilitate user acceptance testing and complete functional validation and regression testing for all upgrades, incidents, and enhancements. Ensure that all related documentation is updated appropriately.
* Perform impact assessment, regression test, and document test cases for Quarterly releases.
* Complete work and tasks related to environment refresh plans with a high degree of quality.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience
* 3 or more years of Human Resources experience
* Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Oracle Cloud in one or more modules: Human Capital Management, Benefits, HCM or related application
* Subject Matter Expert in HCM stack and HCM processing
* Comprehensive HRIS systems background (particularly Oracle Cloud) principles and procedures
* Experience using Service Now or any incident management tools
* Ability to develop creative solutions to HRIS problems quickly and efficiently
* Experience with system configuration, system implementation life cycle or project management and requirements definition with strong database proficiency
* Ability to develop and analyze HR data and provide insights to management
* Ability to work independently and multi-task to drive results
* Experience in working in a team setting to complete tasks and work in a project/production environment
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with OTBI to create reports and dashboards
* Oracle Cloud Certification in HCM or HCM modules

Cornell Laboratory for Accelerator-based Sciences & Education The Opportunity Research Support Specialists contribute to the research mission of the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) by assisting with the development and maintenance of experimental facilities and equipment and determining how to best achieve the necessary research objectives. As a Research Support Specialist I, you will share responsibility for designing, developing, assembling, and commissioning specialized equipment; tracking and analyzing research data and instrument performance; writing and/or modifying computer programs and scripts; troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining specialized laboratory equipment; and providing technical support to researchers in the facility.
You will work on long-term projects and experimental upgrades about 70% of the time - sometimes on individual projects, but often collaborating with other technical staff. Projects may involve any of the following:
* Ultra-high vacuum systems
* Integrating hardware and software
* Safety (including chemicals, lasers, radiation, electrical, robotics, hazardous material handling)
* Cryogenics
* Control systems
* Mechanical engineering - design, fabrication, assembly, testing
* Motion control
* Programming

* Hands-on work (soldering, machining, troubleshooting mechanical systems, relocating laboratory equipment)
You also will provide direct support and oversight to our visiting researchers (about 30% of your time). The Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) is an internationally-recognized research facility that provides high intensity X-ray beams and state-of-the-art instrumentation to scientists and students from university, government, and industrial labs around the world. These groups employ CHESS to conduct research in areas ranging from biology, physics, and chemistry to mechanical and structural engineering, advanced manufacturing, environmental science, materials science, and cultural heritage. CHESS is part of the Cornell Laboratory for Accelerator-Based Sciences and Education (CLASSE), which carries out frontier research in accelerator physics and engineering as well as supporting operation of the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR) for photon science through CHESS.
