Position Summary The Washington Nationals are seeking a licensed massagetherapist to assist in the preventative and restorative soft tissue management of players and staff during the Major League season. This person will also assist the Medical Department in the rehabilitation of injuries for players and staff. This is a full-time, salaried position and this person is expected to travel with the Major League team. Work with the Medical Department to address existing player injuries, contribute to rehabilitation programs, and alert the medical staff to potential issues.
Create and execute care plans in coordination with the medical staff.
Foster a positive, friendly and professional environment for players and staff.
Maintain a treatment schedule for players, manage the treatment area, and ensure proper sanitization procedures are followed.
Document plans and progress for the Director of Athletic Training
Qualifications
Must adhere Washington, DC licensing laws and regulations
Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work across departments.
Desire to learn, grow, and develop personally and professionally in alignment with organizational values and philosophies.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Compensation: The projected annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 per year. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant's: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range. Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid state license in massage therapy or other credentials required by the state.
Previous massage and body work experience.
Customer service experience, preferably in a spa.
Must be able to build rapport with guest.
Ability to explain various treatments/services to guests.
Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
Good verbal and written skills.
Strong team player.
A comfort level with product recommendation.
Availability When Facility Is Open: This could include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly to move objects.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
This position requires the following abilities: balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, tactile sense, repetitive motions, seeing, hearing, talking, and visual acuity.

As a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant, you will:
Perform an initial examination and evaluation to establish an impairment/diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care prior to intervention for all persons served with basic rehabilitation needs in acute care, outpatient, or inpatient rehabilitation settings (flexes to any Rehab site as needed)
Provide, or direct and supervise, the therapy intervention consistent with the results of the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care. The therapist involves the patient/client and appropriate others in the planning, implementation, and assessment of the plan of care. Reexamine the patient/client as necessary during an episode of care to evaluate progress or change in patient/client status and modify the plan of care accordingly or discontinue physical therapy services
In consultation with appropriate disciplines, plan for discharge of the patient/client, taking into consideration achievement of anticipated goals and expected outcomes, and provide for appropriate follow-up or referral. The physical therapist discontinues intervention when the patient/client is unable to continue to progress toward goals or when the physical therapist determines that the patient/client will no longer benefit from therapy (in coordination with the referring provider/team where indicated)
Communicate, coordinate and document all aspects of patient/client management including the results of the initial examination and evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, interventions, response to interventions, barriers to progress, changes in patient/client status relative to the interventions, reexamination, and discharge/discontinuation of intervention and other patient/client management activities with members of the care team as indicated. Supervise and direct the patient care activities of assigned rehab aides, office assistants, and volunteers
Manage schedule to accommodate range in census and patient load and inform management of any issues with caseload management
Attend team meetings and effectively communicate patient status, using, if needed, the medical record or other treating therapists to ensure sufficient knowledge of the case
Be responsible for individual professional development activities
Qualifications include:
PT: Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited Physical Therapy program
PTA: Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program required
1 year of site-specific experience is preferred
Active Maryland PT or PTA License
Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Work Schedule:
This position is per diem at a rate of $60/hour (PT) or $48/hour (PTA)
Commitment is a minimum of 5 weekdays per month (offering a minimum of 4 hours/day), plus TWO major holidays (at least one winter) per year.
Pay Range:

The Washington Nationals are seeking a licensed massagetherapist to assist in the preventative and restorative soft tissue management of players and staff during the Major League season. This person will also assist the Medical Department in the rehabilitation of injuries for players and staff.
