Join us at the NWHSU Bloomington Clinic-Northwestern Health Sciences University's largest and most established clinic, with over 30 years of providing exceptional, patient-centered care. By conducting initial assessments and reviewing patient history, you will work with clients to define health goals and provide therapeutic massage care. This role also includes clinical assisting duties, including creating smooth patient workflow by assisting providers, rooming patients, maintaining OSHA cleaning standards, and educating patients per providers instructions. Conduct informed consent with each new clients prior to treatment and on an annual basis.
Participate in public speaking, community event activities, and/or publish articles in newspaper/media sources for purposes of increasing patient utilization of University clinics.
Attend meetings and required clinic in services i.e.: coding and documentation; HIPAA training; CPR; blood-borne pathogen, etc.
Maintain licensure.
What you need to have?
High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited massage therapy program.
1-3 years experience working in clinical settings.
Eligible to sit for Board Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Body Work exam, required.
Certified in Craniosacral Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Shiatsu, and CPR/BLS, preferred.

Pay Rate: hourly rate, plus commission, tips, and a 90 day commission guarantee. Potential to average $37 or more per hour! ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Massage and knead muscles and soft tissues for the purpose of health and well-being
Able to perform all massage services offered by Wave Spa
Recommend beneficial exercises for continued health
Keep work area clean, organized and sanitized
Recommend retail products for guests' needs
Recommend and schedule guests future appointments
Provide backup support to Spa Receptionist
Process cash, credit / debit card and comp transactions for services and retail products
Handle incoming calls, schedule appointments and answer questions regarding the property
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required Knowledge and Certification:
Graduate of an accredited school of Massage Therapy
Demonstrated knowledge of massage therapy products and latest trends
Required Skills:
Accurate and detail-oriented
Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Required Abilities:
Ability to work efficiently and consistently
Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene
Ability to learn appropriate product and equipment usage
Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner
Ability to enthusiastically and professionally sell spa products and services
Ability to speak in a clear, concise and pleasant voice
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to walk and stand for long periods throughout the day
Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel and stoop
Must be able to reach and twist routinely

Must have the ability to independently lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in the Spa, which includes chemicals, aroma therapy scents and nail products; May require going on the gaming floor, which has flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
Must be able to work with massage oils and products
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals

Responsibilities:
Provide massage therapy services under the direction of the Clinical Director according to each patient's individualized care plan.
