Provide massage services to guests using props and/or products. Provide body treatments to guests using body scrubs, wraps, and/or hydrotherapy. Assess guest needs and inquire about contraindications (e.g., allergies, high blood pressure, and pregnancy) before beginning service. Keep up to date with current techniques and modalities related to their field of work. Escort guests to and from treatment rooms. Arrange workstation, treatment room, and/or drapes. Clean, maintain, and sterilize tools. Handle inappropriate guest behavior by following Marriott International standard operating procedures for Inappropriate conduct for guests and therapists, leading up to and including stopping a treatment or service and informing supervisor/manager. Maintain current skills and licensure in service area as per regional requirements.
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Follow all company policies and procedures; make sure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time; grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight. The LMT is responsible for performing massage therapy, body treatments, and East-Meets-West treatments according to the licensing board, treatment protocols and WOODHOUSE standards.
Responsibilities (essential functions)
Become an expert in multiple massage modalities
Learn and deliver all Woodhouse treatments according to award-winning protocols
Perform outstanding services for every guest
Review guests' charts for all important information including contraindications
Educate the guests to the benefits of the service performed
Recommend additional value-added enhancements and treatments on the spot for guests
Perform up to 5-8 different massages/body wraps per day
Educate guests on the products used during the service
Retail home care products by explaining the benefits and how to use them properly
Meet or exceed retail sales goals by becoming an expert on product recommendations
Market WOODHOUSE services to guests for their future visits
Sanitize the room according to the Sanitation Policy
Electronically document session notes for every guest
Organize treatment rooms, preparation areas and changing lounges
Grow your skills through continuous education
Abide by all licensing standards set forth by TEXAS DEPT OF LICENSING & REGULATION
Abide by all protocols and standards as set forth by THE WOODHOUSE SPAS CORPORATION
