The BYU Athletics MassageTherapists are responsible for providing massage therapy to student-athletes referred by a staff athletic trainer and/or physician. Massage therapy includes manipulating the muscles and soft tissues of the body to provide relaxation, improve health, promote healing, and improve performance in student-athletes. Massage Therapy should be provided during clinic hours in the BYU Sports Medicine facilities (any exceptions to this policy must be approved by the staff athletic trainer).

What You'd Be Responsible For
Provide massage therapy to student-athletes referred by a staff athletic trainer and/or physician
Provide 30-minute massage targeting the needs of the student-athlete
Provide service for up to 10-15 student-athletes per day
Suggest massage schedules for recurring sessions
Maintain treatment records
Collaborate with Athletic Trainers to administer appropriate treatment to student-athletes
Provide communication and feedback with the trainers about student-athletes
Supervise Athletic Training students and teach massage techniques
What Qualifies You to Apply?
Required:
A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
Current and valid state license for massage therapy
2 years experience as a professional massagetherapist
Willingness to uphold and live by the university's Honor Code
All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend, which may be verified during the application process.
Preferred:
Experience with athletes and/or more than 2 years experience in sports massage therapy

Job Description
Help guests relax, recharge, and feel their best. In our world-class spa environment, you can focus on your craft while providing an exceptional experience every time.
Duties:
Be prompt for each appointment and complete services within designated time frames.
Provide consistent, professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and certification standards.
Inform and educate guests on wellness concerns and service options.
Properly care for equipment and use appropriate amounts of products to support cost control.
Maintain complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered.
Uphold sanitation and sterilization standards as required by law and spa policies.
Prepare rooms, clean and restock as needed between appointments.
Communicate to management any staff or guest issues requiring attention.
Actively promote spa services, treatments, retail products, and available programs or promotions.
Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
Respond promptly and appropriately to all guest requests.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a high-quality work environment.
Participate in and support ongoing training and staff meetings.
Assist in all areas of spa operations as requested by management.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree GED.
The Team Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Follow instructions without close supervision.

Must meet all licensing requirements to practice in the state of Utah.
