The Floating Staff Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for administering physical therapy treatment according to established professional standards.
Essential Functions:
Administer programs of physical therapy as outlined by the supervising physical therapist.
Complete all patient related documentation by the end of each workday.
Clean and organize work area, change and clean linens, and disinfect equipment after treatment.
Maintain and upgrade professional skills according to company needs and professional requirements.
Assist supportive personnel to achieve safe and accurate completion of delegated job tasks.
Participate in clinical training and supervision of assigned students and interns.
Clarify the patient's next scheduled appointment time.
Comply with all company policies and procedures as well as State and Federal professional regulations.
Observe patients during treatment to compile and evaluate data on patients' responses and progress and report to physical therapist.
Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients as they practice exercises or functional activities.
Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the company.
Requirements:
An associates degree or certification from a physical therapy program.
A current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
Duties require extensive standing and walking.
Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients.

What You Will Do
Conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.
Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.

May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Currently licensed, eligible to be licensed or having a temporary license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) according to the rules and regulations of the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy required.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
Education:
Graduate from an accredited School of Physical Therapy Program required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Must hold a valid and current license in the state employed.

Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
Must be capable of performing the job functions of this position with or without accommodations.
