The Director of the Academic Achievement Center (AAC) is a key leadership position within a dynamic and student-centered community and is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the Academic Achievement Center. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who is a thoughtful, strategic, and highly motivated leader, with strong strategic, technology, communication, and supervisory skills. The Director must be able to successfully coordinate multiple competing priorities and collaborate productively with key stakeholders at the College. Responsibilities include overall supervision of the AAC and its operations, and direct supervision of various NUP, MCCC, and AFSCME staff within the department. The Director ensures comprehensive professional development and training for team members, establishes clear and equitable practices within the department, and creates a welcoming and supportive environment for faculty, staff and students.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* Supervise team members, schedule staff, and coordinate the daily operations of the AAC to ensure that student needs are being met on all three campuses;
* Collaborate closely with the Assistant Provost and College leadership to manage and implement a strategic plan that supports student academic success, including evaluating services related to tutoring, classroom visits, workshops, programming, and testing within the AAC;
* Recruit, hire, and manage AAC staff, including tutors and learning specialists, in various academic disciplines in alignment with identified academic needs;
* Lead weekly staff meetings and manage an internal communication process to ensure that staff are knowledgeable and confident in expectations, updates, and processes;
* Meet individually with direct reports regularly as needed to provide communication and support in all areas of the AAC;
* With the Assistant Director, provide oversight for tutoring and other student success programs at the College.
* With the Assistant Director, provide oversight for the administration and coordination of testing services, including Accuplacer, make-up testing, challenge exams and other exams as may be integrated (including TEAS, CLEP, etc.).
* Develop and implement training curricula, providing tools/resources for learning specialists, AAC staff, and student tutors;
* Manage and forecast the departmental budget;
* Report outcomes regularly to appropriate college personnel;
* With Learning Services, Accessibility Resources, and the Center for Teaching and Learning, provide leadership in the Learning Commons;
* Coordinate effectively with Admissions, Advising, Student Development, Enrollment, and Academic Affairs to ensure a unified and comprehensive student learning experience from enrollment through completion;
* Ensure compliance within the department with College policies and practices;
* Handle various student situations with sensitivity and professionalism and use judgment to ascertain the need to escalate issues;
* Serve as a member of the Student Services and Enrollment Taskforce, President's Council, and other committees;
* Utilize PeopleSoft, the college's student information system, EAB navigate, Slate, TracCloud BlackBoard Ultra, Tableau, and other technology on a daily basis, and work with Office of Institutional Technology, Office of Institutional Effectiveness, the Assistant Dean of Advising Resources and Technology and others to improve and implement all college technologies;
* Attend relevant conferences, research trends in student support, tutoring, and testing;
* Represent the department at various College and external events and deliver presentations regarding departmental services.

* Master's degree with a minimum of 6-8 years of management experience in higher education or other relevant field;

The individual in this position is tasked with a multifaceted role, encompassing various responsibilities within the Veterinary Technology curriculum. They will assist in delivering the laboratory component of the curriculum, offering support, guidance, and instruction to students during laboratory sessions. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for directly instructing veterinary technology students in specific coursework, competencies, and practical skills during open lab sessions or in cases of laboratory absences. Collaborating closely with primary faculty, they will determine the precise content and objectives for these open lab sessions, ensuring alignment with curriculum requirements and student needs. Responsibilities:
* Communicate with primary Veterinary Technology faculty to determine the exact content and objectives to be fulfilled during lab sessions, as well as provide feedback to faculty about student performance post lab or tutoring sessions.
* Assist the primary Veterinary Technology faculty reviewing and evaluating student performance of clinical competencies and laboratory check-offs.
* Supervise open lab time and provide tutoring on specific Veterinary Technology content as needed.
* Offer feedback on psychomotor skills during practice and complete "check-offs" of required veterinary technology competencies.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA/CVTEA accredited program;
* Current Massachusetts certification as a veterinary technician;
* Possess a minimum of two years full time experience in veterinary technology or its' equivalent;
* Evidence of competence in the area of instruction;
* Maintained expertise appropriate to teaching responsibilities.

* Conduct quality control reviews of counselor work (minimum 10% on a rotating schedule).

Minimum Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Education, Business, Accounting, Human Services, Sociology, or closely related field;
* Two (2) years experience and/or training involving financial aid operations, loan processing, and computer operations; or
