Position Summary:

The Computer Science (CS) lab manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of computer laboratories, which includes installation, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, maintaining and overall management of software applications, computer and networking equipment, peripherals, etc. The scope of work also includes working closely with MassBay's Office of Information Technology (OIT), implementing the laboratory's policies and regulations, and supporting multiple OS platforms.
In this role, in addition to managing CS labs, the individual is responsible for managing the NETLAB and cybersecurity ecosystem including the CS department's own Cyber Range environment. The position requires working directly with CS faculty, students, and OIT, ensuring the system is configured to support the needs of the CS and Cybersecurity programs, including the planning, design, configuration/operations, analysis, acquisition, development, implementation, quality assurance, and management of the systems. The CS lab manager will plan and lead the events and develop policies and procedures governing the CS and Cybersecurity laboratories.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* Manage day-to-day operations of specialized computer science laboratories and the operation of software applications, computer and networking equipment, peripherals, etc;
* Provide ongoing faculty support;
* Install, troubleshoot, and upgrade server-based information systems;
* Evaluate, test, implement and support new operating systems;
* Analyze and assess the technological needs of the NETLAB system and installation of new labs within NETLAB environment;
* Detect, isolate, and resolve NETLAB problems;
* Anticipate system and network problems, develop and implement a plan of action for the CSlabs;
* Integrate, manage, configure, monitor operation, test, secure, and support CS department's own Cyber Range environments;
* Support activities and events offered MassBay's Cyber Range;
* Test virtualized network operating software to resolve technical problems and make the proper on-site repairs;
* Provide resolution of complex problems and operating malfunctions involving various hardware components and network operating software failures;
* Monitor the operation of virtual networks and ensure that hardware, especially servers in all CS labs, and network software are functioning properly and meet required standards;
* Train and assist students with initial guidelines for using the Cyber Range;
* Ability to perform with minimal supervision;
* Other duties as assigned.

* Guide a cohort of approximately 10-15 employees through a self-paced, 8-week e-learning module designed to prepare them for the three FAA Knowledge Exams: General, Airframe, and Powerplant.
* Develop and deliver a customized 48-hour Airframe & Powerplant Review and Exam Prep Practical, consisting of 12 hours per week over 4 weeks (two weekday evening sessions and one Saturday session).
* Provide hands-on, laboratory-based instruction at the Cape Cod Community College Plymouth campus, reinforcing e-learning concepts through applied practice in aircraft systems, materials, and maintenance procedures.
* Design instructional materials, assessments, and lab exercises aligned with FAA Part 147 standards and industry best practices.

The primary goal of the Educational Talent Search Program (ETS) is to prepare middle and high school students for post-secondary education programs that lead to successful careers. The objectives of the program are: completing a course of rigorous curriculum, secondary school retention and graduation, post-secondary enrollment and post- secondary graduation.
The Recruitment Counselor (TRIO Talent Search College Access Advisor) will provide supervision, guidance and support as well as academic enrichment and educational field trips to low-income and/or first generation college middle and high school participants. Guide students through the college enrollment and financial aid application process.
Responsibilities:
* Recruit at assigned schools and maintain the grant-funded number of students within the appropriate low-income, first generation ratio to support the grants goal of serving 695 students within Leominster, Fitchburg and Gardner School districts.
* Assist students in achieving strong academic performance while completing a rigorous course of study ensuring students meet grant-funded requirements by tracking academic progress of all program participants and use academic records (e.g., report cards, transcripts, etc.) in making decisions about specific student services needed to prepare the students for college.
* Check-in weekly with students and target school staff for academic progress;
* Assist high school seniors participating in program throughout the college application process including completing applications, registering for exams (i.e., SAT), completing financial aid applications, college selection, and enrollment.
* Provide and coordinate tutoring sessions and academic programming based on academic needs of students;
* Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, and school staff about available program activities including workshops, field trips, and virtual sessions.
* Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with school staff, including guidance counselors, administrators, teachers, and other school staff.
* With Director, revise programming to incorporate new academic workshops to support student success, and as needed restructure components of the summer program to maximize academic strengths of students, as well as plan and organize college visits, virtual and/live information sessions, and career speakers aligned to student interests.
* Maintain working knowledge of grant objectives and regulations;
* Maintain appropriate grant documentation, including logs of student services and records of student academic progress.
* Participate in professional organizations and attend state and regional conferences in applicable areas (i.e. maintains a working knowledge of assigned area; maintains current knowledge of applicable state, federal, and local laws/regulations; researches new trends and advances in the profession; reads professional literature; participates in professional organizations; attends workshops and training sessions).

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
* Support the Senior Manager of Employer Engagement & Workforce Partnerships in engaging employers, assessing workforce needs, and aligning apprenticeship opportunities with regional priorities.
