Job Description The Directional Drill Operator leads the crew to complete daily tasks related to the construction and maintenance of underground distribution power lines. This position works at various locations and may also be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands. Essential Functions: Demonstrated extensive underground distribution construction experience. Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) experience is required. Must have previous experience working from blueprints, and specifications. Operates Directional Drill for installation of underground power lines. Cleans equipment as scheduled. Ensures equipment is safely and securely parked and stored. Maintains equipment by greasing properly and checking fluids daily (oils, coolant, fuel level). Performs daily checks on equipment to ensure proper operating condition. Notifies shop foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs. Performs other duties as assigned.
