MasTec Civil is hiring a Senior Estimator to assist in the growth of the North Carolina/South Carolina infrastructure market! within the state of North Carolina. This individual should have a minimum of 10 years of estimating experience + a minimum of 3 years of field experience in Heavy Civil Construction, specifically in roadway work such as: earth movement, drainage, clearing & grubbing, grading, roadway bases, channel excavation, retaining walls, water main, force main, etc. You should also be knowledgeable in contract delivery methods: design-build, design-bid-build, Lump Sum, etc., and contract experience with: NC/SCDOT/turnpike, cities/counties, and airport authority. This candidate must be a self-motivated person, willing to collaborate with peers, mentor young engineers, and constantly strives to identify problems and solutions. Capable to individually estimate an entire job. Study and review all estimating reports: equipment total hrs., labor productivity rates, key indicators, equipment balance analysis, etc. Constantly review updated NC/SCDOT Standards and Specifications. Full review of bid submittal package, and lead estimating discussion with company executives. Obtain clarifications on plans and specifications from owner or engineer of records. Coordinate and invite suppliers and subcontractors to quote different scope of work. Analyzes suppliers and subcontractor pricing. Build and strength subcontractor and supplier relationship. Complete understanding of unit cost analyses. Assists to pre-bid meeting and bid submittals. Keep updated information regarding commodity trade prices. Keep looking construction technologies and techniques. Maintain continue education in construction: assist to engineering convention, forum, etc. Continue communication with field personnel (project engineer, superintendent, foreman, fleet manager, etc.) to track and adjust as necessary unit costs. Qualifications Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience in Heavy Civil - roadway/highway/bridge experience preferred. Strong preference to be located in North or South Carolina. B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management degree. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Possess high work values, integrity, and ethical standards. Job Summary The OHE Foreman leads the crew to complete daily tasks related to the placement of overhead electrical cables to meet customer needs, ensuring crew safety, keeping track of employee hours, completing daily & weekly safety briefings/inspections, and calls in project utility locations. This position oversees the Line team and works with other personnel from various departments. Responsibilities Obtain all the necessary materials for the job, and ensure all permits and licenses are in place. Oversee work related to each project and assume full responsibility for its quality and timeliness. Compliance with proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices according to MasTec or the customer, whichever standard is higher. Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections. Disseminates information and ensures understanding of safety briefings. Perform aerial tasks, such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing. Connect wires and cables to terminals and attach/detach various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles. Coordinate and supervise daily tasks for crew members related to digging and placing product. Perform construction work, such as digging holes, placing cable, air pipe, and inner duct work in various types of conduit systems and open excavations. Climb utility poles and/or use aerial lift truck to place cables on poles per system design. Drive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews in completion of work. What You'll Do The Design Engineer - Substation will perform substation design assignments including physical layout and protection & control systems while ensuring compliance with safety and construction standards. This role involves designing substation components, selecting materials, preparing design documents, and collaborating with engineers and field personnel to ensure project accuracy and efficiency. You must be able to meet manufacturer's safety requirements on equipment used. Candidate's body weight + 25 lbs of tools/equipment must not exceed 375 pounds.
